Remarks

The washroom is not well maintained. The parking facility is congested and not enough for even 100 cars. The management is very moody and not so co-operative. The ground is only open for students involved in sports, no one else can step on the ground. The

Entrance Preview

I attempted CAT, for English (hons.), but I got admission directly through cut off, So the entrance score was not considered. I think CAT has been scrapped now, it used to be simple test checking writing skills, vocabulary, literary knowledge and grammar.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The English department of my college has the best professors. The course curriculum is as ascribed the University of Delhi, which is universal for all college under it. The faculty is skilled and encouraging, they support new ideas. The teaching methodology is not confined to classrooms, learning happens through seminars, movie screenings, theme-talks, paper presentations and other interesting methods. The students are engrossed in studies while experiencing simultaneously, which helps to grow.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college holds many internship fairs, but majority of students from literature background are not interested in internships. Other departments have proper internship experience as it counts as a part of their assessment.

Placement Experience

2.5

Well, being from the English (Hons.), me and my classmates were not interested in placements. I have no idea about the companies that visited my college for other departments.

College Events

3.5

The annual fest is named as 'Lashkara', the fest is satisfactory and usually not happening. The department fests are way too interesting, as students come up with innovative ideas to showcase their department in a fun frolic way. The dramatic, fine arts, music, photography societies organize their respective fests showcasing their talent and inviting audience towards the non-academic domain. All these activities take place during the fest week, the environment is full festivities. Other than these, seminars, talk shows, competitions take place regularly, which involve student participation. Blood donation camp and NGO camps are also organized to contribute towards the society welfare. NCC camp is also organised, there is a specific group of students participating in NCC.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As compared to other DU colleges, Khalsa college charged exorbitant fee, as it belongs to regional Sikh community. It is thrice the fee charged at other college providing same facilities and curriculum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students belonging to weaker sections are granted fee relaxation and free study material. Single girl child scholarship are also available.

Campus Life

3.5

North Campus life is full of fun, food, and competition. Students from diverse backgrounds under one roof get together for discussions, competitions, excursions, workshops. The activities are interesting and attractive for enthusiastic youth.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel has been recently established for girls, which is well-maintained, but the mess food is just manageable.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students were co-operative when I joined the college. There is no alumni network and no alumni meets.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

There's a very active placement cell in my college. They conduct placement drives, webinars and workshops. Both the jobs and internships are offered. The best package was of 2024 offering 23 Lpa and the average is around 6 Lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Tho the theory exams are quite difficult and subjects like advance mme where max students fail exist but then also it is doable and has market value

Placement Experience:

The college has a placement cell which comes up with lots and lots of internship and job offers throughout the year, you get multiple new job opportunities every week but the campus placement is not all that great, B Com courses have somewhat decent placements. the college doesn't push very much or try much to get students placed, you're on your own.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
