Remarks

The admission for B.A. (Hons.) Psychology is merit based. I got admission under the 5th cut-off under the SC category. The admission procedure was carried out on the official website of Delhi University. The admission procedure is clear and easy. The website also gives an option for your own Undergraduate Admission Portal where you can find everything including your application and cut-off according to your percentage.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because I am interested in studying about Psychology. The faculty of the psychology department of Indraprastha College for Women is amazing. The teachers have doctoral research degree and they teach with precise details. Even in online classes, teachers strive to prepare PPTs for their students and teach accordingly. At the end of every semester, we are going to have our exams.

Internships Opportunities

3

The college provides unpaid internships for psychology department. They are meant to focus on developing the psychological skills of the students and making the students job-ready. The internships include roles and responsibilities like helping other students in solving their emotional problems at a very basic level and researching about topics given by the teachers or other authorities of the internship.

Placement Experience

2.5

The psychology department does not provide good opportunities of placement through the college. However, the college does arrange internships for students which are unpaid. Average package of placements offered by the college for this course is 2-3 lakhs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study B.A. (Hons.) Psychology in Indraprastha College for Women is Rs. 32,100 per year. Students belonging to the economically weaker sections are eligible for fee concession. Merit cum means based scholarships are also awarded by the college to deserving students. Some special scholarships are their for the students in reserved categories.

Campus Life

4

The college has an annual fest named SHRUTI. Due the the pandemic, SHRUTI was cancelled for the year 2020-2021. The library provides textbooks as well as other books which can be issued. There is a Book Bank facility in the library from where needy students can borrow textbooks for the whole academic year. The classrooms are well-maintained but do not have air conditioners. The college provides ample spaces for various sports such as basketball, badminton, etc. The college also has a gym but lacks a swimming pool. There are various societies and clubs ran by the students of the college as well the college itself. Some of these are north-east society, women development cell, and many more.

Interview Experience

5

In the year when I took admission, that is, in 2019, the admissions were merit-based followed by a cut-off list. There were no interview rounds of GDs. However, the merit-based attendance procedure was pretty easy & clear.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

There's a very active placement cell in my college. They conduct placement drives, webinars and workshops. Both the jobs and internships are offered. The best package was of 2024 offering 23 Lpa and the average is around 6 Lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Tho the theory exams are quite difficult and subjects like advance mme where max students fail exist but then also it is doable and has market value

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral). My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
