Remarks :
Jamia Millia Islamia is a university well known for its great infrastructure and well qualified faculties. I must say, the vibe at the campus is friendly and sociable. The university administration, sometimes behaves queerly but the student's unity takes care of that. Overall, the campus will give you some good memories alongside a degree.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I'm a student of Diploma In Civil Engineering and I chose this course cause I like studying about the engineering involved behind that great architectural Structure. The faculty here is quite qualified for what they do. There's an office staff whose behavior I despise. Besides him, I don't think I was disappointed regarding the faculty. The teaching method of each staff is different, some are great teachers, whom you can listen to hours without being bored, some are good, some are decent, some are not so. Overall, it's above average. The term exams are takes punctually and they are quite difficult to pass cause the level of that examination is quite high.
Internships Opportunities :
Jamia organizes various internship programmes for its students, and some departments even secure around 100% of internship placements. There's no lack of opportunities for capable and meritorious students. They can craft their skills here and get placed decently to make use of their skills. But if there is someone who thinks that if he can get into this prestigious university, then their life is all set and they don't have to work hard to get placement. So, this university will reward you only if you are honest about crafting your skills.
Placement Experience :
The students becomes eligible for campus placements in their last semester. The visiting companies and offers varies each year, but the average is quite decent. The highest CTC for last year was around Rs 40 LPA and the average is around Rs 4-7 LPA. Companies like Microsoft and Deloitte are star recruiter. This year the drive was conducted virtually due to Covid-19 pandemic and more than 10 MNCs participated in the placement drive. The highest Package was offered by Microsoft which was Rs 41 LPA and the average was Rs 7 LPA. Percentage of Students getting placements is around 60-79%. After completing my Diploma In Civil Engineering, I'm looking Forward to complete B.E/B.Tech in civil discipline. After that, I'll try to get placement, or will apply for decent paying job.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees of my course is not so high as I have to pay only around Rs 7-8k/year. And there is no frequent fee hike here and there. So I'll say that study here is not gonna be a burden on your parents. There are many scholarships provided by the Jamia Administration, such as the Jamia Teachers association scholarship and there are many other scholarship schemes also functional for the students. So, for my course, which is Diploma In civil engineering, the cost is not so high.
Campus Life :
The social and cultural life here is quite exciting. We have an annual fest, known as 'Jamia Foundation Day' which is celebrated at the end of month October, which lasts for around 4-5 days. There are two big libraries in campus- Zakir Hussain Library which serves as the central library and a reading hall. It has around 4 lakhs books which is a quite large. Classrooms have traditional Blackboards and chairs which is decent enough and neatly ventilated and are quite spacious. It also have Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi Sports Complex, which houses a large cricket, football, basketball grounds. It also have an indoor games complex and a gym. There's a Inter-Faculty, Inter-college and Inter-university Tournament held annually in every sports discipline. It also have every kind of Drama, Debate, and those kind of traditional clubs. So you won't be disappointed if your are into sports and extracurricular activities, that I can assure you!
