Remarks :

The admission process was very smooth I just had to verify my class 10 and 12 documents with the department teachers and submit the receipt to the office counter and the process was all done. I took admission later as I got through the ECA quota thus I found no rush during the admission counseling day as most of the other students had already taken admission and the classes had also started. So during the counseling day, it was only me who took admission to the sociology department.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose sociology as during my high secondary I took a keen interest in sociology and wanted to learn further about it. Thus B.A. Hons in sociology provided me with the knowledge required to study society in a systematic way. The faculty was very good I must say. All of our professors were from reputed universities like Jawaharlal Nehru University, etc. Our department had a very less number of seats hence we were only 40-45 students which made learning easier. The professors and teachers always cooperated with us if in case we had any problems in understanding. They helped us a lot by teaching us the pattern as to how to study for our semester-end exams. The marking system was very strict so I would say the exams were a little bit difficult to pass if you don't have a basic idea or concept of what you're studying.

Internships Opportunities :

During my stay in college, I did three internships from our college. Every year there is an internship fair that is held at our college playground where different companies ranging from NGOs to Data companies come for recruiting student interns. The role varies depending on what you choose in your internship file. It's a very good opportunity for the students to earn some extra money along with studies and if they are good at their respective roles they are being hired later in the same companies as a job offer.

Placement Experience :

Students can apply for placements in the sixth semester as many placement companies come to our college to take interviews of the interested students. The placement companies like Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PwC, etc come to interview our students for placements. The highest salary can range from 11.7 lakhs to 18 lakhs per annum. More than 60 percent of students get placed in Venky. My plan after my degree was postgraduation in the same subject which I am currently pursuing.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for our course were very minimal as it was 12000 per year for three years. I got many internships with a stipend during the college internship fairs that were held every March on the college campus itself.

Campus Life :

The annual fest of Venky is called Nexus and is celebrated in the month of February every year for three days. Famous personalities are invited especially Bollywood singers for the three-day cultural program SUFI-ROCK-STAR nights. When I was in college I attended Jubin nautiyal, The local Train, Armaan Malik, The Nooran sisters, The unplugged band. The 2020 fest was cancelled due to covid outbreaks. Its a fun filled three days full of games competitions food stalls etc. The library is well stocked with books and wifi facility is also available inside with a superfast net. The classrooms have a whiteboard blackboard and projector. There are tons of extracurricular activities happening every day in our college. Dance competitions, singing competitions, drama, debate, photography, etc. You just need to keep a tab on the details. Inter-college competitions of cricket, football, etc keep happening in the college playground timely. There are a lot of Societies for dance, song, drama, fine arts.

SRCC has the best placement rate and the average package in the entire Delhi University. The BIG 4 companies also come to the college for placements. Considering my plans after the degree, I might go for a placement if got a good one otherwise I will go for a master's.

My plan is to go for a master's. In terms of packages, our college provides 5 lakh PA average as package. Companies and percentage of students getting placements depend on the course. Being a demanding course as economics hons, it has its own perks. Many MNCs come for students like amazon, google etc

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it was an optional for UPSC MAINS, as well as a good base for three year LLB course. The faculty at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College is particularly wonderful. The teachers encourage discussion and debates. Academically speaking, SPM provides an even better environment than some of the North Campus colleges. The semesters at Delhi University were shortened during my first year as a lot of time had been lost due to the pandemic. Despite this, due to the excellent advice and teaching provided, my classmates performed really well. The exams were in OBE mode so that was another factor that led to an above-average performance by our class.

Delhi University situations 2021 are yet to start, in any case, DU arrangements 2020 were closed last year for North, South, and Off-grounds schools. DU universities that stood firm in offering the most significant pay bundle included LSR College for Women, Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Kirori Mal College (KMC), Miranda House, Hindu College, Sri Venkateswara College (SVC), Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) and Gargi College. Be that as it may, because of the continuous Covid-19 pandemic, Delhi University situations 2020 for the top schools were influenced. Major MNCs expanded situation offers with bundles going from Rs 4 LPA to Rs 58 LPA. DU arrangement measure 2021 is directed halfway by the Central Placement Cell, DU (CPC), permitting understudies to be a piece of the chance from across all the DU-associated universities. Different occupation jobs like an Analyst, Associate, and Audit Associate are generally well known among other occupation positions at DU situations. Course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because it's a professional course and related to the field of economics. I want to pursue the field of economics like I have to go to the field of finance, investment, etc. There are many teachers in our college who don't know the exact no. as my colleges going on online. But as the college of DU, it has the best faculty. Mainly my all teachers have done Ph.D. in their fields. So they are very highly qualified. Also, they all have many years of experience in teaching. The exams are not looking too tuff because it held online.

From 1st semester itself, the students are eligible for internships and the third-year students are eligible for placements. There were several companies including Genpact, NIIT, FIS, British telecom, S&P global, Asahi, ISA, Tommy Hilfiger, and many more that offered several bde roles, voice offers too. The highest package was 4.5 LPA by S&P global and the lowest was 1.8 LPA by Genpact. About 56% of students get placed every year from our college. I have planned for a corporate job after I pass and further continuing the studies on an irregular basis.
