SSM Polytechnic College Tirur, Review

Normally qualification of diploma courses is SSLC/ THSLC. And my grades were so high. So I got there in the first allotment. There are no eligibility exams for this. Only on the basis of your 10th mark. We can apply there online when the admission time. And it's a very easy process., or else there is a help desk at college by college Union, they will help to apply for the admission. It is an Eided college, therefor there government and Management seats available. The admission opens in June - July period. Admission charge is very least amount. And if you got a merit seat... Then you can study there free. And there are so many scholarships too.

SSM is one of the best colleges in Kerala. I started my technical life in high school. I studied in technical high school. Mechanical was my first priority to take as a career and I love it. The faculty was the best and the teachers were so friendly and supportive. They were educated and experienced. So they handle every subject smoothly so I passed my exams on the first attempt in first class.

During the final year, we get to visit a company as part of our IT. And we got training there for about half a month at HMT private limited Kalamessery, Eramamkulam. The Industrial training was the one we get to see the application of what we learned in theory. We learned about tool-making, lathe, CNC, and much more latest technology in the machine field.

There was placement in our college. We can attend the placement in the final year if we have a minimum CGPA for applying for the job. So many of us get jobs. Me too. But I was interested in higher studies. So I drop it. I can say there is 100 % placement. If you are not placed, the faculty help us to get one. There was an industrial visit. So we worked at hmt private limited company at kalamessery Eramamkulam or half month. It was a good experience.

There is the least amount of fee about 750 per sem for the exams. But there was a scholarship named E grant, so for me, I studied there for free. And I was a merit student. So it was easy for me. If you are in with a management seat, you have to pay the fee and no scholarships are provided. There are very few management seats are available.

There will be an election in the first sem. It was the best ever memory of college life. The college Union was very supportive and a group of smart and intelligent students who were willing to hard work. They make my academic and campus life colorful. There is a Union day celebration in the odd sem(December ). Arts and sports are conducted on even sem (Feb to march ). NSS &NCC are there too. Campus has a big auditorium and playground. The library has most of the journals and books. And it's a large one also.
