Remarks :
The management is strict and thus students find it uncomfortable sometimes.
Entrance Preview :
JEE Mains and Maharashtra State Board. JEE Mains : 152 (Open category). Board: 90.83%. All India Rank: 10395. I chose VNIT because it being an "NIT". A central Government Autonomous College, ranked in top NITs.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The Course curriculum is same as, the first year course is same for all branches. From second year on wards, the electronics departmental curriculum is good. Practicals conducted are good enough for understanding. Research oriented stuff is good as M Techs and PhDs are present.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, the college provides internship opportunities in the semester holidays. Some of the companies that come for placements, also offer internship with stipend. Also profs offer project under them but without stipend.
Placement Experience :
The Placements are excellent. In the first month of beginning of final year almost 50-60 people were placed. There is a company for placement every 2nd day for the initial 2 months, which absorb almost 80% of eligible students from Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical branches. The percentage is lower for other branches but packages offered are very good.
College Events :
There are many events celebrated in the college on a larger scale. Top three based on intensity are: AAROHI: The Cultural Festival, largest in central India. AXIS: The Technical Festival, largest in central India. IG and DG: Institute and Departmental Gathering, Inter Department Competitions. Ganesh Festival, Onam are also celebrated. Also the college conducts various workshops of various departments throughout the year.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees for my batch is Rs 40000/- per year for the curriculum. The hostel fees is 18000/- per semester (may vary). The fees is very feasible. Now for the new batch the fees has gone up, it should be around Rs 1,30,000/- per year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
A lot of Scholarship and loan facilities are available. Alumni Scholarships are offered. Also many Government aided facilities available for loan and scholarship.
Campus Life :
The gender ratio is 1:1 for computer science and electronics and communication branches. 2 boys to 1 girls for rest. Extra Curricular activities are strong as AXIS and AAROHI work efficiently with high students efforts making them to be central India's Largest Festivals. Labs and sports facilities are excellent. Competitions take place intra-college as well as inter-college.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels are best they can be at very cheap rate. The hostels are spaced and large enough for various years. Separate for boys and girls. New hostels being constructed now. The mess food is best at the rate available. It is good overall.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes, there is a very strong alumni network the college has and the seniors are very very helpful regarding every matter.
Exam Structure :
The exam structure is very chilled out. There are 2 15 marks sessional after 1 month and 2 months of the sem beginning. And after a month more, there is the End Sem Exam of 60 marks. The professor gives the internal 10 marks to complete 100 marks quota. The best thing about it is after exams: 3 Months Summer Holiday (May-July) 1 Month Winter Holiday (December).
Faculty :
College Faculties are good. The level of faculties is very good. A requirement as of now is that one should be PhD so as to become a professor. So the teaching done is of good quality. There are also assistants to them who are PhD under them who are helpful.
