The Medical Life of Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Institute, Ahmednagar.

Remarks :

I had gone through the selection procedure of NEET-2019. In that, I had entered colleges according to my preference list and this college was the highest college from my preference list that I got admitted in. I didn't avail any quota, I got admitted through the merit list. The admission criteria are for eligibility and since it is a competitive exam the merit is decided per year after the results are out. The minimum marks for eligibility are 50 percentile and the minimum age to appear for NEET-UG is 17.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The couse curriculum is well-structured and since the year I started this course new CBME (Competency-Based Medical Education) curriculum is introduced that focuses majorly on the clinical aspects of the 5-year study and hence is very helpful in further practice. The faculty members are quite good and knowledgeable. All the faculty members are selected through a well-screened process and almost all of them are postgraduates in their subjects of choice. Every department contains enough fulfilling faculty as mentioned in the guidelines of the National Medical Council. Our exams are structured as two internal assessments, one preliminary exam and the final exam conducted by the Maharashtra University Of Health Sciences. The internal assesment exams are structured in such a way that give students proper time to cover the syllabus and grasp it properly.

Internships Opportunities :

The medical field doesn't include campus placements, however, the one-year internship after completion of degree provides complete exposure of the individual to patients and various medical emergencies and urgencies. Also, the hospital of this college is well working and often sees buzzing patients hence there are quite a lot of opportunities to learn.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure of the year I started my course i.e 2019-20 was 7,50,000 INR for OPEN category excluding the hostel and other minor fees. For students of other categories, scholarships are provided hence the structure doesn't put much burden on families of low socioeconomic groups. As per the medical curriculum, after completion of degree one year internship is included in the course. The college provides stipend for this work period.

Campus Life :

The infrastructure of the campus is one of the best things about this college. The campus is spread in 18 acres including the college area, hostels, mess, canteen, a few cafeterias for students and a sports complex with indoor badminton courts, gym, swimming pool, tennis court and other indoor games. The college is active in social events and clubs that include the nature club, NSS cadets, social clubs and many more.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facility is quite good. The rooms are provided with basic minimals including basic furniture. The registration process for the hostel is included in the college admission process. There are various hostels and one can opt for any of them according to affordability and also number of accodomations they'd like in one room.

I wanted always to cure people. Also, I come from rural areas where there are very less doctors. So I want to change this situation and bring health facilities to my area. Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is under Competency Based Medical Education it is with competencies in each subject and it helps very well to conquer at each and every subject. The practicals are also very well taught so that you can get hands on in every type of equipment and knowledge about all the things. Medical field in itself is very hard to chase but the difficulty level is quite impresssive in our curriculum it maintains the academic level of the college and University. The timing is also well matched keeping in mind with all the holidays and preparatory time

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always was drifted towards medicine the thought of having a scalpel itself was so mesmerizing! There is one asst professor per 50 students And on the dissection table or in small groups, we have 1 teacher per 9-10 students The teachers are highly qualified some are from AFMC some from well-reputated colleges We have a lecture then practical followed by a small group discussion of that topic mostly in anatomy Exams are quite regularly held and are definitely not easy to pass! They follow the pattern of MUHS but as per info, it was more difficult than that.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty is experienced and the majority of the professors are good at teaching. The course curriculum is as what is specified by MCI. Regular classes. Disciplined study environment. They teach you what would be required for you to crack the NEET PG exam. I wish they would take up more research projects.
