One of the best and (the best evening college) of Delhi University.

Remarks :

The admission process was the same as any other college under the University of Delhi. Like many students, I too applied for other colleges but the reason to not attend other colleges is pure because Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College is one of the best colleges for commerce education and it has the best value for money. I took admission under the OBC quota. The admission criteria for B. Com(Hons) is according to the University guidelines. One needs to clear the cutoffs provided by the college and needs to score at least 50% marks in Mathematics in Class 12.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because it provides a deeper understanding of the Commerce subject and helps in the overall growth of a student in the commerce field. Sbsec has got one of the best faculty and staff. The faculty: student ratio stands at 1:10. The faculty is highly qualified and provides the best guidance. The terminal exams were timely every 3 months.

Internships Opportunities :

One can find a lot of internship opportunities during his/her period in Sbsec. Many known companies and startups visit the campus providing internship opportunities. Well, known companies like Aditya Birla, EY, etc. provides internships to the students.

Placement Experience :

Sbsec has one of the most highly active placement cells of Delhi University. It constantly works for the betterment of students regarding their future career by bringing in a lot of companies providing employability. 30+ companies have visited the campus with a great no. of job offers. The highest package stands at 20 LPA and the average stands at 4 LPA.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure at SBSEC is very reasonable and it is one of the lowest at Delhi University. There are many scholarships available, the details of which would be best found on the college website. Sbsec provides a plathora of opportunities in regards to campus jobs and internships. I recently got placed with one of the Big Four companies.

Campus Life :

Campus life at SBSEC is very happening. It has a great crowd. The college library is very well maintained and one can find all his requirementss in the library. The college has a basketball court, a tennis court and a playground for cricket, football and other outdoor sports. There are many societies which are run by the students like Music society, Dance society, Entrepreneurship society, literary Society, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is not very rigid as the time-table changes every semester. To me it seemed very flexible as I can pursue my CFA designation as well. I wont say that the curriculum prepares us for future pursuits as Delhi University offers a pretty old regime but have adopted the NEP policy from last year.

The placements of Gargi college are really nice. There is a placement cell in our college. From 3rd year 4th-semester students become eligible for campus placement. The average CTC was offered as Rs 5 LPA and 3.6 LPA for the previous session. The companies that visited our college are Ernst and young, KPMG, Smart cube and Genpact, S&p Capital IQ, etc. The percentage of students getting placements is 50%. Placement Experience:

The placement cell of DSC is very active. You can start doing internships from your very first year. Internships go on during the whole year. Placements are usually happening in the last or second last semester mainly for final year students. The main domain for which the recruitment drives are conducted are - Sales, Marketing, Accounting, and HR. The major companies that visit our campus are - KPMG, EY, GENPACT, JARO EDUCATION, WIRPO, and other companies with an average package of 3-3.5 lakhs, students do get nice offers from these companies. The highest package for the year 2020-21 was approximately near 5-6 LPA. There are a good number of students getting placements. Since I am planning for professional courses, I haven't sat for any placements but my friends do sit for the placements and as per the reviews, I can assure you that if you have the right amount of talent and zeal, you are not going to be graduate with empty hands.
