Remarks :
There is a lot of construction going on in our college due to which the greenery of our campus is getting lost. But the new hostels for girls and boys will help the students to get their own individual rooms.
Entrance Preview :
I had appeared for IIT JEE as well as JEE Mains in the year 2013. Due to my low score in IIT JEE and being in the general category i didnt get any good iit. Therefore my only hope was JEE mains in which i got 15530 rank. VNIT is located in my hometown and its Civil Engineering is quite a good branch since its inception. Therefore opted for this college and Branch.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course structure is good which focuses on industrial hands on experience since the practical are carried out on a regular basis. Those who have an interest in research, they can do a lot of projects with the professors who are very helpful.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, Mostly Computer Science students are offered internship which includes companies like amazon, Atos etc. For civil and electrical we have LNT and other companies like Godrej, also visit our campus for internships and job opportunities.
Placement Experience :
Placements are good. 100% Computer Science Placements, 80 % Electrical Placements and 60-70 % other branch placements. Average package is around 5-6 LPA. Companies like amazon and Dshaw offer over 12 LPA.
College Events :
Two Central India's Largest cultural festivals are celebrated here. Technical Fest- AXIS and Cultural Fest- Aarohi. Different and interesting workshops are held at AXIS and events receive a good participation from all over India as there is a good prize money involved. Aarohi: The college's cultural festival which sees performers and participants from the colleges in and around Nagpur. This year PAPON will be performing at the fest. Constortium:The college's Management Festival.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It was quite feasible in 2013. But the fees was almost doubled last year, but still its less than all the private colleges and other government engineering colleges.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
A loads of scholarships and loans are available it being an NIT. Mostly the financially weeker students apply for Scholar loans from SBI or take up the Alumni Grant.
Campus Life :
Campus life is enjoyable. Exposure is provided to both boys and girls. Gender ratio is almost equal, depends on courses sometimes. No political issues at all.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel Facilites are good. I dont have much knowledge about the mess food since i am a day scholar, but based on what i have heard, the new mess contractor is far better than the previous one. They receive fruits everyday in breakfast as well as in the evening snacks.
Alumni/Alumna :
College seniors are alumni are very helpful. We also have one yearly alumni meet in which students can interact with the alumni directly.
Exam Structure :
We have sessionals every month and then the end sems. Not too hectic as we get a 3 month long Summer break and a one month long winter break.
Faculty :
Faculty is very qualified and includes professors who are pass outs from BITS Pilani, IIT Bombay, and have also industry experience for almost 15-20 years. The Faculty is brilliant, most of them being VNIT alumnus themselves have a sense of responsibility and immense knowledge of the Subjects.
