Remarks :
At the time I enrolled myself, 60 in PCM was enough and a JEE mains score of more than 30 for Outside Maharashtra Student (General) was enough as it was a completely new college established in 2012. I wanted to try for Baba Ramdeo College, Nagpur through DTE but I did not get the college. So I stopped keeping track of it. After that, I straight away went to DYPIEMR college and enrolled myself and there were ample seats available.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is completely decided by Pune University until the third year when your college gets to choose the electives from among the electives available out of which students then get to choose. Ours were all very out there in terms of the market share of the technologies, like Wireless Sensor Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, etc. I was in Electronics and Telecommunication. In the first year, we had Basic Electrical Engineering, Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Mathematics - I and II, Basic Civil Engineering, etc which is common throughout the different streams. In the second year, some of the subjects we had were Control Systems, Signals and Systems, Integrated Circuits, Electronic Devices and Circuits, Engineering Mathematics - III, Analog Communications, Digital Electronics, etc. Faculty: student ratio is decent. However, 40% of them are not good teachers. They kind of make the going tough for students for no reason at all.
Placement Experience :
They do have placements organised. But it is not like how it used to be which was not very great either but it was good. They used to call TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Mindtree, Vodafone, Netcracker, etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee is relatively cheaper compared to the other colleges in Pune. Inside the same campus, is the D.Y. Patil College of Engineering as well which had a fee of 1,10,000 and ours had 73500. I believe it has been hiked by 10% now. Placements used to be good if not great but that as well has declined lately. Some of the companies the TPO used to call were Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Accenture, etc.
Campus Life :
Life at the campus is made worthy by your friend circle for the most part. But, the college as well as got a part to play in it. It was very boring when I joined in. The professors make the going tough for students. There is no proper fest or any other co-curricular activity organised. Very mediocre annual day fest. No sports facility. Can take up music but would not get any assistance. Basically, they believe you should only study. You'd get lots of assignments which I believe is customary to engineering but they take it a notch up.
