Remarks :

Calcutta university is one of the most popular universities in India. Now it holds 3rd rank in India. The admission process is completed in two ways- one: entrance basis for non-CU students and two : merit basis for CU students in M.Sc. Well known and very good faculties, less expensive fees, very nice environment.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Very good faculties as earlier I mentioned. Intake capacity in M.Sc (Applied Mathematics) is 54 approximately. Qualification of the faculties are very high like they are all phd holder and many other degree holder and the teaching method is good. Semester exams. If well prepared then no difficulties.

Class Size : 54Course Fees : INR 14488 per year

Internships Opportunities :

I had qualified for South Indian Bank exam but failed at interview.

Placement Experience :

From 3rd semester the students become eligible for campus placements. The campasing companies are like Infosys, tcs,private banks,novartis,chegg,pwc,ibm etc. No. of offers made are 7,8. The highest and average package of the companies are 4lakh per annum and 3.4 lakh per annum. Percentage of placement is quite low like 11% per department. I completed my M.Sc from Calcutta University (Rajabajar Science College). Now I try to get higher qualifications like M.Tech or PhD.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees are very less expensive,the scholarship facilities are available like SVMCM,INSPIRE,OASIS,JINDAL etc. They arrange also a few campus jobs. Like infosys,tcs,private banks,novartis,pwc and many other companies.

Campus Life :

They conducted many programs like annual fest,freshers welcoming programs. Availability of books and journals is just awesome. There are many books and journals in the central library and also in departmental libraries. The classrooms are nicely decorated,neat and clean. Website: Calcuttauniversity.com

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are also available. Good but not very nice. But they do for students as much as possible. Meal quality is also good . Registration process is also very good. The hostels are located near the university.

Admission :

Since I completed my B.Sc from VIDYASAGAR college (Calcutta University) so I didn't face any interview, I admitted totally in merit basis in M.Sc by the basis of my score in B.Sc

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum was overall good but it's a bit pressure also. But as everyone knows good things required hard work. So I really enjoyed the whole course during the college years. There are two exams. One is internal of 25 marks and second one is of 75 marks, which is external.

School of Tropical Medicine in a nutshell

Course Curriculum Overview:

BSc. in medical lab technology is a very demanding course nowadays . It's mostly a practical based degree which gives you the vast knowledge about different types of disease & their diagnosis. The patient interaction , sample taking , making slides , performing different tests to know the actual disease are different aspect of the course.The 6 months paid internship also gives good work experience which is very important.
