Remarks :

I have opted for Chemical Engineering at HBTI Kanpur. I have gone for counseling on 30th July 2018. The admission criteria for my branch are from 24000 ranks to 40000 general ranks. With no backlogs in academics. Many students other than me are in the queue waiting for their time to verify their documents with the professors. Having my turn I approached the counselor, He asked for documents I showed them. He asked me for more documents such as Anti-Ragging, Fees slip of family, etc. I have been directed to the lawyer to do so. After that, I again reached the counselor the next day and submitted the admission fees and he provided me the bank slip. Now the process is smooth We can directly submit it to the bank. Given that I submitted the money and got the slip I have been directed to my classroom and meet all the teachers who are to teach us. We have been going with the Induction program for 15 days to get known with the college and seniors.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have chosen Chemical Engineering because the professors of this department are very experienced and teach us very well. In these 4 years, I have gained an opportunity to interact with companies and various societies outside the college. I have gone to represent my college in various hackathons and have done well. The bonding of faculties and students takes us to great heights. we can reach the faculty anytime to discuss our doubts. But there are main criteria of Attendance which we have to maintain 75% throughout academic Otherwise you have to interact with carryover exams. Though Ragging is completely banned from College there is some interaction between juniors and seniors which is a must for personal development. I would recommend the new joiners to get prepared for placements as soon as you join the college. Term exams of 2 types mainly mid-term and end-term exams with overall credit of 22 subject to change. I have obtained an 8.08 CGPA till the 5th semester and still going on.

Internships Opportunities :

Suez and ExxonMobil come to campus for recruitment for internships. You can get it according to your skills. In chemical engineering, you can get a Process Engineer role and embark yourself with a stipend and workload. Projects are to be done by you to go beyond other students. You can get internships in the 5th semester and do your best at the project assigned to get a PPO offer from that company. You can participate in hackathons to get prize money which can reflect your resume and CV. I can suggest you participate and get ranks which can boost your confidence for appearing in interviews. I can say you to get acquainted with more and more projects and get along with the flow

Placement Experience :

Students usually get internships at end of 5th semester and eligible 5o aur for placements at 7th sem.Till then you have to do good at studies and extracurricular activities. In my branch various consulting and core companies visited .I can't disclose the names but they are good to be employed and start your professional journey .In our branch 75 % students got placement may be oncampus or off.You have skills so use it in your needs Highest package offered is 14 lacs and average is 6 lacs for our branch. I would tell you to get acquainted with your skills well. You have to get the placements at. Your cost or prepare for GATE exams and get acquainted with higher studies if you have interest for reseach and other fields .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I am a general category student so never attained scholarship policy but my branch mates have got government scholarship which basically comes under the family income. The total cost for studying may cost up to 450000 which is liable to the general student. There is financial assistance provided to EWS students, Complete free admission fees they study in the college. We usually interact with companies and get the job based on our skills and knowledge. 10 -12 companies visit the campus every year for hiring meritorious students from College

Campus Life :

Life at the campus is beyond expectations. You will get to interact with meritorious students and some clever ones. You have to be self-minded and prepared for everything. You can get into the college societies through various exams and seminars conducted by clubs and departments. we conduct a tech-fest known as Adhyaay in November of each year. And sports fest Aagaaz is conducted in February every year. Students from different colleges participate and win different prizes. There are so many different types of books in the library with a full AC system. You have to issue an I'd card for buying books for some days after which you have to pay a fine according to extra days. You can play sports on the ground of the campus. They may be volleyball, Badminton, Cricket, Football according to one's capabilities and interests.

Hostel Facilities :

I have been shifted to the hostel in the first year with two students in the room Also the single room triple room facilities .We are provided with almirah and table with chairs .You will get sufficient facilities in the room . Coming to the meal facilities ,I can say the food was not so good of quality it may be because it has been cooked for so many students at same time.We use Swiggy and Zomato many times .Some days the cook was so good that we reach the mess 30 min ago the scheduled time .Afterall it's the college life so get to enjoy it at the fullest. You have check-in with the warden of the hostel and get your room with help of workers. I have taken the room facilities with PG in the locality in second year involving in other activities and interacting with society which is too good. You can get everything in the market for your needs and suitability.
