Entrance Preview :
I gave the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) for IIT & got a Score of 175 which is of no use being a General category Candidate. If you wish to take an admission at that score , You have to compromise with both College & Branch . I gave BITSAT & got a score of 275 .My wish to go in BITS was only for Pilani Campus which i could not get at that Score. Finally I gave my AIEEE then and got a score of 219 with an AIR 8891.
Internships Opportunities :
The college invites companies to come for the selection of students for internships. The company later on decides the list of students who are eligible to sit for the internship & then on the basis of written Test , Group Discussion and Personal interview, they select a few candidates who they think are fit for the internship in their company.
Placement Experience :
The campus placement Drive provides enormous opportunities to students sitting for it , being a National Institute of Technology.Almost 90% of them who are eligible for the placement drive gets a decent package , The mechanical average stands around 5 Lpa which is similar to other IIT's.
College Events :
Various Events in College are Kashish. It is the formal party given to the freshers of the college by the administration of college. Various events like singing , dancing & Mimicry Competitions are held . Mind-Bend It is the Technical Fest of NIT Surat. It is the one having highest budget in Gujarat & covers the students from all over Gujarat.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The Scholarships are given to the students who are in a merit zone as well as their parents financial income is very less. They are given exemption in the food and accommodation fees by proper analysis of their family background. The analysis is done by a committee headed by warden and other student council members.
Alumni/Alumna :
The Alumni network has Strengthened in the last few years due to the sincere efforts put up by the alumni team & some alumni members. There is a committee of the alumni members headed by one of the member which coordinates and arranges get-together at various social festivals. The alumni members are regularly in touch with the alumni secretary & involves in all sorts of help needed by the college.
Faculty :
The Faculty was Very much qualified coming to the standards of NIT's. Most of them had their research work in Abroad as well as in IIT's and the big Consultancy Companies . Many of them were part of the giant companies to help them in their research & development work. Few of them were the visiting professors in the foreign universities.
