Honest Review of HMRITM

Remarks :

*Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is a state public university of Delhi with a rank of 86 in Engineering NIRF 2020.*HMRITM is affiliated to this university. *The college is situated in Hamidpur Village, New Delhi-110036 on NH44.*There is no metro or cab services connectivity to the college. The bus connectivity is good but the route is always busy hence, going by own vehicle is a good option. Also College provides bus facility and charges extra money for it that is approximately 30K per year.* Since the college is in a village there is fresh air all day, clean environment but there are no outlets nearby for sitting and eating purposes. If you want to go somewhere, Murthal is only 30km from college.*The reason why I choose this college was simple, I wanted to do Mechanical Engineering and only 7-8 college affiliated to GGSIPU had it, so as per my rank I got this.

Course Curriculum Overview :

* The labs are OK. Faculty is OK. Teachers are cooperative though.* Syllabus is as per GGSIPU easily available on website.* Exams were moderate though.*You have to study on your own and pass, do not depend on teachers.* And sit on first bench, be in good books of teachers , mug up and write.

Placement Experience :

* Placements OK for CS/IT/ECE branches. Extremely bad for branches like Mechanical and Electrical. Only expect placement in ED-Tech based companies, no core companies visit the campus for placement.* Students are eligible to sit in campus placement from 7th semester.* Companies such as ExtraMarks, BYJUs, Capgemini, AdmitKard, Infosys, TCS and other CS/IT based companies visit the campus.*Highest package : 7lpa *Average package: 3lpa * Percentage of placement: CS:90%, IT:90%, ECE: 70%, MAE: 5%, EE: 15%

Fee Structure And Facilities :

* Fees Structure: 1,05,445(1st year)+95400(2nd year)+95400(3rd year)+95400(4th year) i.e. total of 3,91,645 for 4 years for academic purposes only. Approx 30K per year for college bus facility.* no scholarships, no assistance, College authority will not even grant you some extra time if you are unable to pay the fees on time.

Campus Life :

*The campus is not big and there are basic facilities like water, washroom, library(without book bank), canteen available.*One small ground in front of college building with a cemented stage and semi constructed Basketball court so please don't expect anything in sports from the college.* Librarian is irritating, keeps roaming in library and kicks students out of library just for doing assignments. No book bank available. You will get 2 library cards with limit of 2 books per card.*You will be asked for money for college cultural fests held in February.* If you want to only study then it is good, but it you want to enjoy college life and chill, please seek admission somewhere else.

Placement Experience:

In DU you can get placement but for only bcom. There is negligible placement opportunities for the students of science background. But after completing the degree you can go for research and teaching feild and other competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good and understandable to all the stream students. I choose this course as I was from a commerce background and have an interest in the field of business. The faculty is pretty good in the college and the faculty: student ratio is okay or less, caz students are more as compared to the faculty but there are also guest faculty available for all the students, so there's no such problem with the faculty. Most faculties are highly qualified, some are even doctor and their teaching method is also up to date and really understandable. Also, about the term exams, as there are 6 semesters throughout the course, there are 2 exams that have been held during each semester that is 1 half term and 1 end term and these exams are not too difficult to crack. One can get good marks if they are studying properly.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for college placements from the 5th semester. I remember Genpact and Decathalon coming to our college. The average package ranged from 2,50,000 to 4,00,000. The placement cell also organizes an internship fair every year for which students are eligible from the third semester. The percentage of students getting placed is moderate. Around 35% to 40% of students got placements. My plan was to study further and go on with my masters in English.

Remarks:

* the comparison of pros and cons are based on all the colleges under GGSIPU and not IIT, or NITPros:Transportation: college is well connected and within metro, bus routes, the choice is yours.Good campus: In GGSIPU campus of ADGITM is one of the best.Faculty: Faculty are good and always there for your helpCollege Societies: From sports to arts and culture to entrepreneurship college has societies, if you want to join and explore then society are one of the best place to explore as they are quite active.Infrastructure: the college has good infrastructure considering other college of GGSIPU.Cons:Placement for other branch than CS and IT are very rare if you want to work in core sectors. The education is based on to get marks in the end sem and not to learn and grow, which is the sad part.Investment in societies by college is negligible, student manages most of the events by themselves that is one of the reason most of the societies underperform than their calibre. If you are getting MAIT or GB pant go for that as the education is quite same but there you can get more placement opportunity in the core sector. and more space to grow.My time admission was based on GGSIPU CET but now it is based on JEE Main score as GGSIPU comes under JEE Main.

Admission:

Yes there was a written test and the admission is purely on the base of written test, and rank achieved in that written test. Written test is JEE main and it is based on physics, maths and chemistry of 12th standard.
