Entrance Preview :

Department of Pharmaceutics is the first Pharmacy college of India. The department is established in 1932 by Prof. M.L. Schroff. Who is also known as Father of Indian Pharmacy. I cracked GPAT-2013 (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) and secured AIR-186. It was my dream to get admission in M. Pharm at Department of Pharmaceutics, IIT(BHU).

Course Curriculum Overview :

Its really good and the cutting edge research is going on in the department. The overall course is divided into two semester and rest two semester is reserved for research and thesis work means first two semesters with examination and rest two just for dissertation and Viva. The subjects are based on credit system, which makes interesting the overall course because the high credit subjects make high impact on CPI/CGPI.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, Internship facility is available for UG, PG and PhD scholars. The MHRD gives stipend for PG and PhD scholars. For PG- 12400 per month for two years and For PhD- 25000+HRA per month.

Placement Experience :

Placements for UG and PG students is really great. Placement cell is doing great job. As per IIT rule minimum package is permissible for on-campus hiring is 2.5 Lac per annum. Many companies are open for both UG and PG guys there is no restriction of branch. If you have caliber just sit for placement session.

College Events :

There are many events like TED Talk, Technex, Kashiyatra, Spirit and many more we celebrate every year, sports events like Spardha, and DJ Night Saturnaliya is most favorite for all. This events are managed by students itself and there is collaboration with big sponsors also.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee is really nominal, Campus expenses is nothing. The fee was 15000 per semester including Hostel fee. there is no extra charge for hostel, electricity, water etc. only mess charge we have to pay which is max up to 3000 per month. Free Net, wifi, swimming, gym and all kind of sports.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

MHRD gives Scholarship to the each PG and PhD scholars, no need for loan. The scholarship is much sufficient to live and enjoy the student life.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network is really strong. All over the world we can find BHU Alumni. IIT BHU also maintain its global alumni network and it has web link where every alumni get registered itself. Yearly alumni meet is also organised in the campus.

Exam Structure :

In PG there are four semesters in which two semesters like daily class and practical and end of the semester you have to appear for exam. another two semesters there is no class no exam, you only go for your research work and thesis work at the end of the semester you have to face dissertation or open viva session. So overall is neither hectic nor chilled out.

Admission :

Through GPAT score (80%) and Personal Interview(20%), Common merit list was prepared and seats allotted as per the criteria and reservation. Only 30 seats are available. GPAT rank holder up to 200 may get admission (Gen/OBC). for ST/SC it may be up to 500. Now they take entrance examination also just like NIPER.

Faculty :

Highly qualified and experienced faculty. Professors are very much helping in assessing the course. The faculty has worldwide experience. Faculty not only teach us they do research as well. They routinely go for national / International Conferences and Participate in many workshops along with their scholars.

Placement Experience:

Students in the final semester become eligible for the campus placements. 95 percent of the students were employed in the various sector such as pharmacovigilance and academics as well. The highest pacakge was 8 LPA and the lowest was 4 LPA. My plan was to join the academics along with that prepare for the PhD for which the college guided me very well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Firstly, I chose this course as it included concepts of Biology and Chemistry, the subjects I liked the most. The no. of faculties in my department are about 35-40 and the total number of students might be around 450-500. Most of the faculties have a doctoral degree and at least their Master's Degree in any specialization and the way they teach is excellent and it's just a rumor that students of Amity University do not study, or nobody studies there or teachers are not at all good. The exams are timely conducted and it's not that difficult to pass the exams as there's not that much stringent checking done for answer sheets like other universities

Admission:

I had received good grades in my B.Pharm graduation. There is an entrance test of FATE is another eligibility criteria for the admission my scorecard was a good one. So securing admission was not a tough part for me.

Placement Experience:

The association of the college with big companies help us to get a good placement by the end of our graduations. The maximum package which a student gets is of Rs.12 lakhs. Each year many students are placed in big companies by the placement cell.
