Remarks
Since I was a covid batch student, the whole admission process was online. I have filled the Mumbai university form and then the college form separately. Biotechnology demands PCMB students but PCB students can also apply for this course but they are supposed to give a maths bridge course exam which is conducted by the college before Sem 3. For getting admission into biotechnology, one has to score a minimum of 75 in biology and 70 in maths on their 12th board. South Indian students can take the benefit from the Tamil quota.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have opted for this course because it has a variety of opportunities. Biotechnology has a great scope since it is a developing course. I had the best faculty members because they are very supportive and provide time to time guidance. SIES is especially known for its student friendly faculty. They look after every student of the class and help them in overall development.
Fees and Financial Aid
My fees was around 34,500 in first year and 35,200 in second year. So there is rise in fees every year. But the college provides various kind of scholarship opportunities to the students. SIES don't have placement cells but few students get the chance of job through teacher's reference. Average salary ranges from 20,000 to 40,000 for a BSc student. Doing Msc after Bsc can provide package of 70,000 to 1,00,000.
Campus Life
Sies have well equipped laboratories with advanced equipment. Also, the college has a very huge library with good sitting availability. There are hundreds of books available of different genres. Although the campus isn't very big. Various fests are conducted in the college by students. VISIONS being the most famous fest of our college. Also, various departmental fests are conducted throughout the year. There are various associations/clubs in the college for extracurricular activities. Also, it has gymkhana where various sports have been played. Gym, canteen and women development cell are also available here. Classrooms are well equipped with projectors and ACs.
