Entrance Preview :
IPU Common Entrance Test, Scores are not revealed. Students are provided with ranks, mine was 6000. I opted this college because this is what I received based on my merit list, and it is one of the best colleges of IP University.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum changed from the year 2013, and is pretty good from that time. But there is a shortage of faculty, and students are provided with a much shorter list of additional subjects than the one prescribed by university. The course curriculum is designed by the university and has meaningful and important subjects in the course.
Internships Opportunities :
No, the college doesn't provide internships. They only provide you with a No Objection Certificate specifying they don't have a problem if a student is interning in some company or organisation. Students have to look out for internships at their own. Though, there have been incidents in the past that a few companies came to the campus only for internships but that too only for the final year students.
Placement Experience :
The college invites two mass recruiters that includes Infosys and Accenture. Most of the students who are eligible for the placements (eligibility criteria is defined by the company itself and not the institution) gets placed with these two companies. Other major highlights includes companies like Microsoft and MuSigma.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee for the 2013-17 batch has been around 90,000 Rs which is quite affordable. Though, because of the government norms and other similar reasons, the fee increases every year, and it is INR 1,16,000 for the 2016-20 batch which is again less than any private institution.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college offers concession in fee on the basis of your marks and the earning of the family ensuring that the student deserves it and is in actual need for the same. There are options for splitting fee in 2 installments (per semester) for special cases as well. The individual batch toppers are rewarded with handsome money on the annual day of the college.
Alumni/Alumna :
There isn't any alumni network, but the seniors here are really helpful (atleast most of them). They are always available to guide, to teach (both inside and outside the curriculum) and show you the path towards success. The student communities also help student build new skills and brush up old ones.
Exam Structure :
We have two sessional examination each semester. These are 30 marks test with 1.5 hours of time. The pattern is generally one exam in a day, and exams get over in a week. These are used for evaluating students to provide their internal scoring (out of 25). Then there is an end semester examination that includes internal and external practical exams (25 for internal and 75 for external) and theory exam of 75 marks.
Admission :
After the results of IPU CET, you have to fill the necessary information, and a preference sheet specifying the college and choice of subjects as a list of priority. Then the students are provided colleges on the basis of their ranks and their preference sheet. Later you have to submit the fee and necessary documents at the college. There is a 40,000 Rs fee we submit it during first counselling procedure.
Faculty :
There are always a variety of faculty in every college. Similar is the case of Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology. The faculty here is qualified, but with the revised syllabus, there are a few problems with a very few subjects, may be because the time when they graduated, these topics might not even existed.
