Remarks :
(I) I looked for a no. Of colleges for Admission, 1. IUST awantipora: not applied, coz fee was too high 2. BGSBU University Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir):not applied coz too distant from my home Ultimately my first and foremost choice became Kashmir University, coz it provides a cool, calm and enthusiastic environment. (II) No special quota is availed, however for the candidates deserving it, it is available. (III) Admission criteria: Graduate with at least 50% marks in the case of general category and 45% marks in the case of reserved Categories. The admission process is smooth and admission to the Colleges is done purely based on merit. (IV) Counseling provides you with the opportunity of choosing the college/campus of your choice based on your preferences. However, you must make sure to keep all the requisite documents along with you when applying for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Exams are usually conducted on time, however, Covid-19 caused huge obstruction and inconvenience to the examination calendar. But ultimately its effect was tackled through online examinations.
Internships Opportunities :
Cisco: Data Entry operator Forever: Marketing and sales manager Canon: sales manager Projects have been undertaken: Android app development using advanced technologies like machine learning, Google's collab etc and other frameworks. The project was completed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Affordable fee structure. The fee hike is not that high usually. It is not like you need lakhs to study in this institute. All in all fee structure is pretty good and affordable. Applied for PMSSS, But didn't get the scholarship sanctioned in my bank account.
Campus Life :
1.Sonzal: A 5-7 day annual festival conducted in the summer season (June - July). There are a couple of large Playgrounds at the very entry of the University. 2. The Mega repository of books i.e Allama Iqbal Library. 3. Comfortable classrooms with projectors, ACS, and other necessary equipment attached. 4. Associations include Red cross society KU, KU students Association etc. 5. Famous magazines. The Jewel in the Crown of Kashmir. Verinag: Magazine. Yumberzal: Magazine.
Hostel Facilities :
Basic facilities in case of room don't cost so much, however, if you want to avail more comfortable rooms, then you need to pay more. The food provided is of good quality. You can avail yourself of the hostel facility by applying online and providing necessary and requisite documents. The facility is subject to the availability of hostels and other factors like your home districts distance from the university campus. Hostal facility is affordable, and you can easily afford it, without having to pay high amounts. The mess staff is pretty good and the food provided is pretty good, due good hygienic environment.
