Jayashree Girish Wighe's Review On Bharati Vidyapeeth College Of Architecture - [BVDUCOA], Pune

Entrance Preview :

NATA entrance exam, Was interested and passionate about architecture. I have chosen this course over engineering. I am very good at sketching and have a creative mind.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is very interesting involving a lot of skill. It is a beautiful field, a combination of art and technology, basically using the left and right parts of the brain. There are different subjects associated with art, research and technology. The complexities of the subjects increase every year.

Internships Opportunities :

No the college doe'st provide internship. There is a 6 month internship period included in the syllabus. You have you make the resume and cv on your own and apply to different architecture offices. This internship will take place in 4th year of the architectural course. Interns usually do not get paid in internships some offices may 4 k to 10 k again depending on the type and location of office.

Placement Experience :

Again the college wont provide any placement opportunities. Its you who have to make your cv and resume again and apply to different architecture offices. For the position of junior architect. The salary is usually 10k or above depens on the type and location of offices.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees for architecture course is really expensive for my batch it was 85 k and now its increased to 1lakh approx.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Scholarship is offered you can enquire about it from the administration department of the college. The college does not offer any loan facilities.

Alumni/Alumna :

The seniors and alumni are extremely helpful and even supportive of their juniors. They share a lot of tricks and tips and give guidance on different subject and topics which sometimes teachers are not able to explain it properly.

Exam Structure :

The college follows 2010 semester course. Every year has two semesters. There will be written exams for technical subjects and viva or jury for design and art related subjects. There will be an internal examination first in which the internal faculties will mark your assignments and then an external examination in which a visiting faculty will mark your assignments.

Faculty :

Faculties are very enthusiastic and interested in the respective subject. You have internal faculties which do the actual marking on your assignments. Then you also have visiting faculties who are specialised in various topics related to the subjects, who come to the college to guidance through lectures and seminars.

Students get campus placement after last yr. Although they become eligible for internship after 3rd yr University exams . Some students get the opportunity to go to France through students exchange programme in 4th yr for 11 months.

Placement Experience:

The campus provides placements for 5th-year and 3rd-year ID students. There are about 10-15 companies that come for placements. The average package of the company would be roughly 2,50,000 to 3,00,000.

Placement Experience:

campus placement is generally eligible in the last year. for architecture, the term campus placement is not fitting in this college. there is only a single company taking students from here in the name of campus placement. the intake is less than 5 students out of 80. more students go for starting a firm by their own or do post-graduation. i think ill do the post graduation after my degree.

Admission:

Admissions into any architectural university nowadays are purely through NATA. This university doesn't choose to differ as well. The minimum marks to be scored in boards is 50% with PCM as the stream. The candidate has to apply online and pay the fee online too.

Placement Experience:

There are very little/no placements as of now. But the student can take up internship programs if he/she is interested with stipend. The college doesn't provide them stipend. The college however grooms us well to face situations like placements.

Admission:

I wrote JEE mains and NATA as I was very determined in getting into architecture someway or the other. Luckily I got into B.Arch at TSAP with my NATA score and Board score cumulative. One has to score a minimum of 50% in his/her boards. The NATA and JEE mains cut off varies from year to year.

Placement Experience:

Placement training at TSAP is excellent, we have frequent workshops, the institute even takes up live projects where students could lend a hand. Most of them do their post-graduation and the rest of them get placed in firms for experiencing a job.
