Remarks
I did not apply for any other colleges as my parents were more inclined to me attending SGTB Khalsa as it's located in North Campus and has better facilities than many other colleges in DU. The admission process(2018) was swift and hassle-free. As we drove through the University campus to the college, we (me and my parents) saw a lot of people standing outside the college gates waiting for them to let in. We wondered if we would have to wait outside as well since it was quite early. However, much to our luck we did not have to endure any of that and were offered to sit in the classrooms allotted for admission to our respective courses. The process was quick and there were no delays in the fee payment link or paperwork. However, I would advise any newcomers to consult a senior available there about the electives and the choices available.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BSc Zoology because I loved biology. The students were mostly girls in our course. The faculty is very well educated and qualified, all of them are PhDs and are more than happy to solve doubts at any time. The exams are easy to pass provided you attend the classes.
Internships Opportunities
As far as my friends have told me, the companies hire you on the basis of your abilities. You have 3 years to develop your personality and work on your strengths and weaknesses. If you are lucky you might secure a job in your internship.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are available for those who are willing to work right after graduation and companies like Deloitte and HCL also visit campus. Since I look towards continuing my studies further, I do not know much about the placements. The placement cell is the one you need to keep in touch with at all times if you want to be placed in your final year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee was around 22k in the beginning but soared up to 30k before lockdown. They do provide financial assistance to underprivileged students. However, the fee is a lot more than what other DU students are paying.
Campus Life
The annual fest 'Lashkara' is held every February. If your parents do not allow you to attend night fests then you are at an advantage as Lashkara is held during the daytime. Apart from that, during the July-December session, there is the Khel Utsav for all the sports fanatics and of course the societies.
