Entrance Preview :

NID has its own entrance exams, known as NID entrance only. NID is known as a best design college in India and comes under best 25 Design schools of World, every design enthusiast has a dream to be part of this institute, so do I. Another reason was the course which I have taken, Strategic Design Management, NID is the only institute in India which is running this course successfully.

Course Curriculum Overview :

NID site has all the course information. Select particular course you want to go and see everything from course to your future opportunities. The one best thing about NID is that the course curriculum is not rigid, it keep on evolving every year with the changing World and industry requirement. So student and faculty both are very open to explore their best.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, NID has its placement week, during which they provide internships, graduation projects and placements to students. It happens in December. The minimum stipend limit is 15 k and it goes up to 75 k. They give you full freedom to choose your internship company and project you want to work on with them.

Placement Experience :

Placements are 100 percent. NID does its best to provide opportunities to students, but many of them choose not to go for job and prefer to start their own company for which NID has an Incubator cell. Companies for Internship, graduation project and placement are almost same, based on their requirement they circulate the opportunities.

College Events :

We celebrate almost all festivals with same spirit, attire and lots of yummy authentic food. We call it just "Culturals" be it any festival. We have "Bateein Session" almost every second week. It is like an interactive session with industry experts. So you learn from the real people then through case studies or books.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Compare to other design colleges the fee structure is quite feasible. The entire master course of 2.5 year cost you around 9-10 lakhs including admission fees, hostel fees, food and extra expenses. I say the cost to study is really worth it, you can easily earn back the same amount in just one year.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Scholarship is their but based on parents income status. Other than that ford foundation is there to help the students. There are lots of back which provides loan to the students, mostly student go for SBI education loan.

Campus Life :

Gender ration is 50-50 in all total, but changes as per the discipline. NID has its own Student activity committee which takes care of all the student requirement and issues. Campus life is one of its own experience. Everyone has a full freedom to nurture their interests and explore their best capabilities.

Exam Structure :

NID has a jury system not written exam system. You will get 15-30 min of time and you need to present your best work done in entire system. Day is not at all hectic, it just need lot of energy, and once you are into it you will forget about day and night. Day and night are same in NID.

Faculty :

One thing which I have never seen in any education institute is that in NID there is no funda of teacher-student. You can as open to your faculty as your friends. Even student can also suggest faculties what they want to learn. And faculty put their best effort to make it happen if it really holds a value for entire community.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placements. The placements procedure has not yet started. 6 lakh is the highest package and 4.5 lakh is the average package. Mostly the profiles offered are marketing only. 10-15% of students are getting placements. My future plans after getting the degree are to get exposed to the corporate world.

Placement Experience:

The placements are the best across India. It is only one of the 5 to get audited and officially published. There are two placement procedures that a student goes through. The summer internship is mandatory as per the course, which is supposed to happen between the two years. The placement of the same happens around Nov-Dec in 3 clusters, which is decided as per the batch. Then the Final Placement happens in Second Year, around Feb in a similar fashion. A detailed report of the number of companies and package is available on the website.

Admission:

Admissions are granted on the basis of merit in the CMAT exam. My CMAT score was pretty decent, but still, I have to wait for the second round of counselings. After that, I appeared for the interview round and Group discussion, which was pretty easy for me as I was practicing for the interview round and giving mock interviews.

Placement Experience:

Placements were okayish. Our institute had corporate tie ups with many reputable companies, which they used to invite for the campus placements. Packages offered were also good. the highest package went as high as 12 LPA, while the average package offered was of 4 LPA.
