Remarks :
Applied for Bsc in Ruparel as was not sure about getting admission to Engineering. Comes out, I was just anxious - so applied to KJ Somaiya, Rajiv Gandhi, Vartak, St. Francis. Got into XIE through the CAP round. The cutoff was 100 marks. The admission process was quite smooth.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had done vocational electronics in my Jr college & was interested in Electronics. Faculty Student Ratio is 1:5. Some faculties are pursuing their PHDs or Masters. The teaching method is theoritical only, not much emphasis is given on practical application. There are labs - but only journal filling happens there. Term exams were six-monthly and 2 mid-terms. They were moderate in difficulty.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible from the 7th semester. Media.net, Infosys, Capg, BNP Paribas, Zycus, Seclore, Indian Navy, LTI, BYJUs, JIO etc. Highest package was of Rs. 10 lpa by Indian Navy for Pilot & Observer post. Most profiles were of Systems Engineer in IT - Developer,Tester & Support roles. About 70% students got placed. I joined BNP Paribas
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There was a scholarship for JK students & EBC. The toppers were not given any scholarship. I got into BNP Paribas from campus with a salary of Rs. 5 LPA. Also had an offer from Infosys. The Training & Placement cell is very good - especially Naveen Kukreja Sir - he will provide you with placement training & go out of his way to help you.
Campus Life :
Spandan is the Cultural fest & Transmission is the Tech Fest. They are held in Jan,Feb. The library is loaded with good books, reference books & novels. The campus has 3 big playgrounds - One with grass, the other with cement & the 3rd with mud. So big that marriages are held here. There is IEEE, CSI,Dance clubs,Robotics club & indoor games like TT,Carrom as well.
