Remarks :

The college will be a right fit for you if you would like to venture into research in heterodox economics. If you want to venture in the corporates post your masters, this is not the place to be. They do not teach you the skills that are essential for the job market.

Entrance Preview :

Examination: UoH has it's own entrance exams for MA courses score: I do not happen to remember the score but the test is not the most difficult tests around choice: UoH happens to be ranked high in terms of research which was a criteria while choosing the college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is one of the best in the country each semester you are required to choose 4 courses and the % of mandatory courses vary from semester to semester. The course curriculum, for most courses, can be compared to the other colleges and is pretty extensive. However, it IS a heterodox university and the focus on quantitative economics is a lot lower than other economics masters.

Internships Opportunities :

The internship opportunities are abundant. The stipend varies from place to place and a lot of places do not offer any stipend. The internship opportunities are majorly from research institutes and academic institutions. It gives the students an opportunity to experience the academic life since majority of the students want to get into research.

Placement Experience :

There are absolutely no placement opportunities for Economics students. There are one or two companies that do go there but that only takes care of 2% of the students. However, there are a lot of internship opportunities available for the students and the information can be gathered by talking to the seniors or college alumni.

College Events :

There are 2 major events on the campus: the annual fest, Sukoon which is a 3 day event and you'll ave one of the best times you will have on campus. There is an annual night cup for all the sports you can think of. The campus comes to life in the night and there are events for both boys and girls part from these a few schools have their own fests or events. Especially the School of Management.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It's the cheapest university in the country to get a Masters from. The fees is around 500 per semester and there is a refund for most students or is covered by the mandatory fellowship the fees is payable on a semester basis and can be paid online.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college fee is not high enough to ask for a loan. There's a mandatory fellowship that is given to every student. And any student from a reservation background will get a higher scholarship or rebate on fees.

Hostel Facilities :

There's 17 hostels on the campus and the fees for the hostel and the mess is very low hostel rooms are easily available and the mess food is decent and edible. You'll get used to it. There's never a day when the mess runs out of food. There are decent PGs available in a 5 km radius. However, due to the location of the university in an expensive area, not a lot of students avail this facility.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network is helpful as long as you can get in touch with them. There's no specific network or an online/offline portal to get in touch with the alumni. There are no alumni meets of any sort.

Exam Structure :

There are 3 internal exams every semester per course. The 2 best scores per course are chosen and they account for 40% of the total. The end semester accounts for 60% of the total marks. Internals are conducted according to the schedule that the Professor seems fit and the end semester is according to the University schedule the Score is given on 10.

Admission :

There are 2 stages to the admission process: an entrance exam and an interview. The entrance exam is on aptitude and there are topics tested on basic economics. The interview is solely based on the basics of economics and you would be thoroughly tested on these.

Faculty :

There can not be a general statement made about the faculty in the school. Yes, there are a few faculty members who are absolutely brilliant at what they do, be it research or teaching. It is a delight being a part of their courses. However, the average age of the faculty is on the higher side which effects their energy and the methods they use for teaching. If there can be new talent infused into the faculty, that would really help the students n terms of qualificatiions and publications and research, the faculty is top notch.

Course Curriculum Overview:

First i am going to tell you that I am a history student and some of my professors are historian they published many research papers so if they tought me it's very helpful for me because it's going to help me in my PhD thesis. In 1st and 2nd semester you have to read about the things that are in syllabus but in 3rd and 4th semester you have to choose your awn paper. If I have to tell about improvement in syllabus I am going to tell that they have to improve science and tech related things in history like how it's started what are the reasons behind it etc. The timing of exams are very good you get 3 hours for 60 marks exam and for 40 marks you have to submit your assignments or professors may conduct a test , it's depend on them
