About Telangana Mahila Viswavidyalayam
The Osmania University College for Women is a prominent educational institution in Hyderabad and started with only seven students admitted into the Intermediate Arts Course in 1924 in the premises of what was then the Nampally Girls School located in the "Golden Threshold", a former home of Smt.Sarojini Naidu. In 1932, the Intermediate Science Course was started and in 1935, Degree courses in Arts and Social Sciences were added. The main building of this college, which was part of the British legacy in India, is a monument of great aesthetic, architectural and historical importance. Commissioned in 1803 for the British resident, J. A. Kirkpatrick, its builder Lt. Samuel Russell of the Madras Engineers, has produced a structure capable of rivaling the Governor's house in Collate

- Hostel: Hostel accommodation will be provided for 250 students of under graduate & Post graduate students based on distance, family back ground and economic conditions. A.P. reservation rules are also taken into consideration for allotment. However first year UG students are not eligible for the admission in to Hostel
Festivals -
- Sports Day: Every year the department organizes 'Sports Day' and sports persons of repute preside over this function. Physical Education is recognized as an important aspect of women's education and due encouragement is given to this aspect

All scholarship eligible candidates whose parents' income is below Rs.2, 00,000/- per annum are eligible for SC/ST scholarship.

- Many students who cant afford university can still take admission and study at Osmania University. The university also offers programs through collaborations with various companies. Additionally, students are involved in major tasks and projects related to marketing and nature.
Dislikes
- Im just a junior at our college, and all our seniors say that there are placements. However, I dont think its true because simply studying for a degree cannot guarantee us jobs.
- I went once to a hostel where the infrastructure is not good. There are 10 people in a single room, and since ours is a womens college, a girl cannot live in the hostel due to its infrastructure

The application process is done through DOST( degree online services of Telangana). The student who is interested to have seat in this university has to apply through DOST website. There are almost 3 to 4 phases to apply. Anyone can apply for this university but the preference will be given based on the reservation and the scoring of the students. If the students inter or 12th score is above 90% they may get seat in first phase. First preference will be given to the scores of previous class. It is much better and benefitted if you apply through your sports or ncc background (if you are a sport's person or a ncc Cadet)

College select students based on their percentage, and marks obtain in intermediate.they will be selected easily in College if a student gets 90 percent to 75 percentage and there will be no extra fee for students who got above 90 percent rest all money

Reservation benifits are available.like sports certificates and physically handcrafted . The frequency and timings of exams along withe our perspective on difficult levels and some times normal levealso and easy level also there. The areas for improvemeant in the administration process .

- The first one among the things i dislike the most is hostel facility and accomdation.Students have to live in low ventilated rooms with unhygienic toilets and washrooms filled with pungent odour.
- The water facility in the hostel will immerse you in a imaginary life living in a lonely desert of rajasthan.

Osmania is a non-profit university which is funded and managed by the government. as I said it is managed by the government but there is no free seat. tuition fee waiver schemes are available for students below a certain income level. to get a seat here, you need to be among the top-scoring candidate in EAMCET. candidate has to pass 10+2 or equivalent with 40% aggregate marks in the science group for admission into B.Sc. the cutoff rank will depend upon the branch you take. for getting pg seat in MA/M.Sc /M.Com/M.Ed/M.P.Ed /MCJ/MSW/ M.Li.Sc/LL.M is based on a valid score in OUCET conducted by the university. it is a superb location for research oriented people and a good environment. it is very famous and reputed university in Hyderabad. it is also a very old one. it provides very good education to the students. as a student, i am very satisfied with the faculty,placements and infrastructure of the university. the hostel facilities are very good. there is Osmania hospital near our college.
