Entrance Preview :
I took admission through UPSEE 2016 scoring 444/600 and getting UP general rank 3177. I opted this college because of the unique branch and the reputation of the college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is not very much research oriented in the first year, but as my branch is food technology, the next 3 years are going to be totally research oriented catering to the modern and changing needs. In the first year we have to go to workshop which is good for the industry purpose.
Internships Opportunities :
There were not too many internships provided by our college. And by my knowledge it actually provides no internships.
Placement Experience :
The placements of some branches are very good with an average of 6 lakhs with approximately 90% placements but some branches have very less placements as low as 10%. The core branches like Mechanical, computer sciences, chemical is good. The non core branches like paint, oil, food, also have good placement from the college with an average ranging from 800000 to 600000 rupees. Other branches do not have good placement.
College Events :
Our college has an event for each branch. So there are many events to be celebrated during a year. Also a college fest is also organised during the year. There are 4 clubs in the college which organise their own respective fests. But after taking the admission in the college no fests have been organised yet.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
This college is a state government funded college. The fee structure is one of the cheapest structure in the country for technical education. The fees included with mess and hostel fee happens to be just around 95 thousand. The makes the college one of the most sought after college in the state of uttar pradesh.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Exceptional scholarship. Despite the fees being so low there is good provision for the scholarship and every year the students avail it. I personally got the "fee waiver" seat and had to pay only the nominal charges for the mess and the hostel.
Campus Life :
Campus life is exceptionally dull. The gender ratio is pathetic, and is abound 1:8. The college is also exceptionally poor in diversity. An over whelming majority is from small town UP. Other parts of the country and the society are not represented. The competitions such as extracurriculars, sports, debates, etc. are rarely organised. What ever is organised, is not properly coordinated.
Alumni/Alumna :
The senior culture is discouraging at best and immoral at worst. Support from seniors is something that has mostly alluded us. Alumni do visit the college, but are bothered more about their personal struggles as a "Harcourtian" and struggle in their life. They hardly show any genuine interest in making a change.
Exam Structure :
We have a lot of time for studying here in this college. The routine is very light during the college days.Generally on an average in a day we have to attend classes for 5-6 hours day which gives a lot of self study time. During a semester we have to appear for two internal exams CT1 &CT2. And a semester exam is taken at the end of semester.
Admission :
The form was released by the end of 2015. Exam was held on 19th April. The answer key was released on the same day by the official UPSEE website. After the declaration of result, I had to go through 6 rounds of UPSEE counselling process. During the first round of counselling we had submit 20k rupees to get registered for the counselling process followed by document verification from verification centers.
Faculty :
The faculty of my college is mostly guest faculty. There are very less teachers which teach well. The chemistry department is very good, maths department not too good, computer department is okay and the physics department is very good. Other professors which will be teaching us in the upcoming years are also not very good.
