I gave the JEE-Mains exam in the year 2014 and scored 125/360. I opted for this college due to its great reputation.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is under the Mumbai University. Although the current curriculum is fair enough, it is very much out-dated. The course includes some subjects that are not required and some subjects that are required are not present. At the end of the day it comes to the student because the student has to do self-study.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes the college provides internships in various reputed firms like TCS, Infosys, etc. The general stipend lies in the range of 7k-15k. The overall experience of the interns is fairly acceptable considering the amount of assignments one has to write.

Placement Experience :

DJ Sanghvi is one of the top 4 engineering colleges in Mumbai. Almost every student sitting for the placements is made sure they get one. Considering the number of students, it is fair to say that not all firms that come for the on-campus placements and worth the struggle.

College Events :

Trinity, the cultural-technical-sports festival is celebrated in the month of March every year. It includes a vast pool of events that happen round the year. Also, the Inter-Department wars have been introduced since 2013 and it has been a high success. Concerts are also a superhit Farhan Akhtar Live had happened this year.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is a little expensive considering engineering as a stream. Moreover, being an SVKM college it charges a little extra. But the infrastructure is better than that of all the remaining colleges combined. So it's a win-win situation for both.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As our college has a Gujarati Minority quota, there are many scholarship and loan facilities available. For eg. if a student's parent works in the SVKM, he/she gets a 30% off on the fees. Also, the Jain minority people get around 18 k-25 k return on the fees.

Campus Life :

Gender ratio is far better as compared to other engineering colleges. Also the standard of living is also high. The crowd is better than other engineering colleges. There were many events occured under Trinity such as the MUN, Robo Wars, etc and they attracted some really great competitors as well as sponsors.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network abroad is very much helpful in the way that they have created groups on social media according to the area in which they are pursuing their MS. Economic, social needs for the newcomers are tackled by the alumni.

Exam Structure :

The exam is carried out for the whole month which gives us 5-6 days per subject to study. This much time is more than enough for a student. My college is there on Saturday also which stresses out the students. Also the time ranges from 7am-5 pm. There is no standard time. Every class has different timings.

Admission :

The college had its own admission process i.e the admission form was available on their site and was not through the DTE admission. The merit lists were released on a regular basis and the whole procedure had gone smoothly. The faculty helped each and every student in their form filling.

Faculty :

The faculty of my college is one of the reasons to join the college. Apart from the regular teaching, they help us during submissions and viva. Although there are some teachers who are not experienced, they try their best to make us understand the concepts.

I took the NIFT Entrance Test. It is divided into two parts. The first test has CAT (Creative Ability Test) which has 3-4 topics you have to design on and visually present it using dry mediums only and GAT (General Ability Test) which has questions in English, Math and logical reasoning.

Admission:

Once you clear the 2 exams, you are given a rank. Based on your rank, you are given a date on which you have to appear to any NIFT campus near you for counselling. The students are called one by one as per their rank and they can choose from whatever seats and branches are available at the time. Then you have to get your original documents attested and pay the fee to be enrolled in the college.
