Remarks :
I applied for IHM Goa and Pusa but my rank was not up to the mark. Then I got into IHM Gwalior. I've got 4832 ranks in all India exams of NCHMCT. I always wanted to do hotel management as i was always having a keen interest in hotel industry. I lucky enough to get admission to IHM Gwalior. As I was planning for hotel management, my family and friends were supporting me to at every moment. I was a little worried when I gave the entrance exam but eventually ended up being super proud of myself for scoring more than I expected. I would like to suggest everyone choose the hotel industry as their career.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty members are very supportive and play an important role in your success. They will provide you with all the details and information about all the things you should know about. Every faculty member is there to help you when you're in need. Qualifications of faculty is of top class. Some of them have been the part of the subject that they are teaching for example and executive chef of a well-knowned hotel was in our teaching faculty. They had the field and deeper knowledge about things which helped us to learn more. Term exams were lengthy and tough. But if you've studied well and are very focused and sincere about your studies.
Internships Opportunities :
Companies like Radisson Blue, Marriott, MC Donald, Grant Hyatt and many more provide internship opportunities in our colleges. In an internship, they will help you to learn more about your skills. To perform assigned tasks effectively without any glitches or problems. They will help you get out of your comfort zone and learn to handle yourself in Pressure situations etc.
Placement Experience :
Form last semester 6 that is the final year final semester after that you are eligible for the placements. There are many companies and hotels with are a part of our college placement. College provides opportunities to be selected in the PI round and get a job at these hotels. Companies like Radisson blue, Marriot, and many more are a part of college placements. The interviewer will not select you on the basis of your looks or way of talking but also from the way you carry yourself, your skills, your way of handling things, knowledge and all sort of things.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The cost to study is affordable. But I got an education loan to pay the fees on time. The fee structure was already provided but the college at their website along with the details of the courses fee, training fee, hostel fee etc. I didn't get into any scholarship program. And I also didn't take any part in the government schemes. I have been on the training at the hotel and it gave me utmost field knowledge and experience.
Campus Life :
Every year there is annual program and also at every festive there is a theme. And every festival is been celebrated in the campus. Life in the campus is very good. Also, there is a very huge library in campus which have all the books which will help you to learn more and more with proper information and details. A classroom have wooden benches and desks. Sports like football and cricket are very loved between the students at hostel. Sports day and other activities are also being organised by the head. IHM Gwalior official Instagram handle is there which promotes students and their achievements on the campus. And it is run by a fellow student.
Hostel Facilities :
There are many facilities provided in the hostel like proper clean room with a sealing fan, a bed and a table and open window in the room and an almirah too for keeping clothes or books. There is a common television in the hall also for the students to watch a movie, a cricket match or anything. Cleaned bathrooms are also there. Also sports equipment like football, cricket bat and ball are also there for the students to play outside the ground of hostel. The quality of the meal is not so good and not so bad. We would get special meals on Sunday once a week and the rest of the days some or the other thing in the meal changes. Hostel registration in the first year was on the basis of first come first serve basis. But from 2nd and 3rd year you will get hostel according to the rank and marks you get. The college authority prefers the first-year students for hostel and provide the hostel easily. But form second and third year you have to earn your space for hostel.
