Remarks
The Admission was based on our class's 12th marks. In the first year, we had Physics, maths, and statistics. In the second year, we could eliminate any one of them and focus on the other 2 subjects. And finally, in the third year, we could choose the specialization of our choice. But there is usually a lot of competition in statistics and there are only 30 seats. Hence you must be among the top 30 students to get the field of your choice for your specialization. The admission criteria for FY was 12th pass with above 70% in 12th grade. The admission process was pretty smooth and the people in the office are usually very helpful.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose statistics as I found it to be very interesting. The faculty of the statistics department is very good. There are 6 teachers. Usually, in the third year, there are 30 students and only 4 teachers teach us each semester. The staff is highly qualified, each having masters in their respective field. The exams were conducted according to the given schedule, but stats was usually quite hectic. Staff members would take extra lectures to complete the syllabus on time and the exams were moderately hard too. It was quite difficult to score really good marks in statistics until students put in some hard work.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for BSc statistics is usually affordable to all. In the first year it's around 6500, and then the second year around 7500 and final year around 8500. So you can consider 7500 as an average estimate. I do not know much about scholarships and financial assistance, but on-campus jobs aren't usually provided. Students would have to apply for internships by themselves.
Campus Life
The college social life is awesome. The college by itself doesn't have a big campus or so, but there are continuous activities going on. You can be a part of any group and it is really fun. Not only is there a main fest " Visions", but there are also smaller fests and departmental fests. All in all, you can really enjoy it. The college also has a gymkhana. It isn't all that fancy but the in-charge does promote you in all sports. There is a very well built library in the college where you can almost find any book.
