Help with internships

Remarks :

I got selected in NHITM through the CAP round. The office staff was very helpful with the admission process. We had one person guiding us throughout. They not only helped us with the documentation work but also explained everything patiently. I belong to the SC category and after filling in the details, scholarship form and submitting the required documents one can avail of the benefits.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The faculty members were experienced and very supportive throughout the journey. Even in the current situation where online lectures were only the option our teachers conducted the lectures smoothly. Tests after each module, video references, etc along with the explanation were various methods used for our better understanding of the subjects. The faculty student ratio was almost 1:15, also we were assigned with mentors whom we could approach personally if we had any problems. The term exams were conducted online via Google Forms and google meet and went smoothly. The only drawback was that practicals were not held but that could be an exception during the current situation.

Internships Opportunities :

The college was helping us to get internships at various major companies. Also, a one month vacation or holiday was given to us after the midterm exams so that we could get time to complete our internships.

Placement Experience :

In the batch 2020-2021 we were not provided with placements, maybe because of the COVID situation. The college helped us to find internships though. Various online workshops were also taken to guide us for taking future discussions. We were also encouraged to do online courses to make our profile strong. One free course of our choice on Coursera was provided through our college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for the open category is almost 75000 but benefits and scholarships are given to the students who come under different categories. The process is not much hectic we just have to submit the required documents and fill the scholarship form. The office staff supports and guides in the required process.

Campus Life :

The two major fests and events conducted in our college were the tech fest that is Technozone held mainly in the month of September and the cultural event named Kshitijam held in February or the following month. Students from other colleges are invited during Technozone to participate and see the various fun and technical events held in it. Kshitijam is an excellent platform for us students to show our talents. We also have sports days where the different department teams compete with each other. We have a big and spacious library ad laboratories for different departments where almost all the books and machines related or needed by all the departments are available. Despite the attraction in fracture, our college lacks a proper campus and canteen. A classroom on the ground floor was converted into a canteen by adding a few tables and chairs. It barely served any proper food. The sports ground is mostly taken by the students of New Horizon school.

Talking about placements, most of the placements occurs in CSE and IT branch, but surprisingly in the Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, the Mechanical branch has the same placements comparatively just the fact is that the package is less.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Placement Experience:

Students are encouraged to take internships from the moment they are confident and can handle responsibility. They are eligible for placements after semester 4. Approximately 60+ companies visit the campus every year and they take an average of 4-5 offers. For instance, the highest package can be 40+lpa from Microsoft. 90-100% placements happen every year. My plan after getting the degree is to acquire a placement and work with the organization.
