Student of NHITM

Remarks :

I was a civil engineering diploma student, so for getting into a degree college I searched my options thoroughly considering the factors like commute, fees, laboratories, staff, and extracurriculars. Later I came to a conclusion of selecting NHITM, luckily I got in. There were 3 cap rounds in total I got selected in the 1st round itself, but I was waiting for another option nearer than it. After the cap rounds, I had to submit the certifications to the center and go to the college directly. I contacted the college officials and asked them about the timings and went on the specific time with my other 2 friends. There then we were asked to wait in a seminar room and explained everything about the college and the guidelines with enthusiasm. They filled forms for us and helped us fill them in the digital platform as well. The admission committee solved the queries and helped with great efforts.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I preferred to go for civil engineering because I wanted to continue my diploma studies. The faculty-student ratio is pretty decent for an engineering college. All the faculties are masters or Ph.D. holders in NHITM. The teaching method of the professors is great, they teach us with such methods that it gets easy for us students to understand. There are 2 internal assessments in a semester that are similar to unit tests based on half portions

Internships Opportunities :

The internship opportunities are provided by NHITM college by mail system. The training and placement cell mails every student about the internship availability and training or courses for different departments.

Placement Experience :

The students do internship until the third year to increase their chances for placements, which is provided to the training and placement cell of NHITM. We get eligible for campus placements which usually happens in the fourth year of study.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees that I paid were 84k for the second year, 67k in the third year and it will be 67k in the fourth year as well. The fee keeps changing every year, mostly it increases and I have no scholarship idea for it.

Campus Life :

The annual cultural fest in March is called Kshitijam in which every department participates, it includes dance, fashion show, singing, art, etc. The annual technical fest in September is called Technozon which includes paper presentation, poster presentation, quiz, and some fun games. Navratri is celebrated with the most enthusiastic way in NHITM, Garba day is what people wait for in the college. The books and journals are available in the library where we can read or sign and take a book home for some specific time limit. The classroom is very spacious with good quality of chairs and desks. The sports event is held in March as well where the students are divided based on their departments and asked to participate in events like football, volleyball, cricket, chess, carrom, tug of war, handball etc. There is a student council that conducts all such events. Also, every department has its own club, like I n civil engineering department it's civil engineering students association.

Talking about placements, most of the placements occurs in CSE and IT branch, but surprisingly in the Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, the Mechanical branch has the same placements comparatively just the fact is that the package is less.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Placement Experience:

Students are encouraged to take internships from the moment they are confident and can handle responsibility. They are eligible for placements after semester 4. Approximately 60+ companies visit the campus every year and they take an average of 4-5 offers. For instance, the highest package can be 40+lpa from Microsoft. 90-100% placements happen every year. My plan after getting the degree is to acquire a placement and work with the organization.
