Remarks :

Good thing about the college is that you will get to learn and be part of a prestigious institute and get placed in a good firm but the bad part is that few minor things in lab has to be improved and lectures have to be made in a interesting way rather than a traditional method.

Entrance Preview :

CET, 8016 Rank, BMS is among the third best college in Karnataka and hence my interest was to be part of such a reputed college. My focus was to take up mechanical stream as my father was into a Business related to Steel Die/mould making required for Plastic components.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The elective chosen are Non Conventional Energy Resources, Automotive Engineering, Finite Element Analysis, Power plant Engineering. All these electives focus more on the basics required for streams which people would like to get into in the future. For example In case of Finite Element Analysis which helped us during the course of project as an extension for designing pressure sensor which has wide range of usage in the field of medical. Automotive will help a person who is getting into Automotive Industry which gives a basic idea of the all type of component in an vehicle etc available in the market.

Internships Opportunities :

No it doesn't provide for Under Graduate student but if its M.Tech student they will be provided around 5000 - 10000. Companies like L & T, John Deere, Tata Elxsi, Wipro do visit the college.

Placement Experience :

90% of the student were placed. Companies like TCS (Rs 3.5 Lakhs), Goldman Sach (Rs 6 Lakhs), Maytas (Rs 3 Lakhs), Wipro (rs 4 Lakhs), Tata Elxsi (rs 5 Lakhs), L&T (Rs 4 Lakhs), Infosys (Rs 4 Lakhs), Bosch (Rs 4 Lakhs), ABB (Rs 6 Lakhs), John Deere (Rs 4 Lakhs), Toyota (Rs 5 lakhs), Honda (Rs 3.8 Lakhs), Mahinda & Mahindra (Rs 3.5 Lakhs).

College Events :

UTSAV is the major fest among all the colleges in Bangalore and every single person will be present for those three days. First day is more on dances and all, 2nd day is more on rock band which is the best part and 3rd day is for MAD ACTS, Fashion show etc. This fest is normally done every two year depending on the Dean. Departments have their own individual fest conducted which last for two days having event like SKIT, Mock interview, hacking etc. Overall amazing time.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

For me, yes it was feasible as it was a merit seat where i had to pay Rs 10,000 per year but i think the current fee would be much higher and will be a bit expensive for a person if its a management seat. If its a pure merit it will be bit higher like around Rs 20,000 as per the current value which i had received from sources.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Frankly speaking not sure but yes i understand that there are scholarships for SC/ST. Beyond this I am not much familiar with this.

Campus Life :

Gender ratio overall in college has been good 60 : 40 but where as mechanical stream will be 97 : 3. There is a good response from management in terms of sports and there are good participation in terms of debates during fest etc. But competition like Robotics were seen during those time and might be there as of now as the college is completely autonomous and all new subject related to current industry has been added . Decency of the college is quite good unlike other college. Bit strict still lenient enough for student to enjoy a good college life. I can rate it as 8/10.

Hostel Facilities :

I have been to the hostel many times and found it to be quite good. Food wise its average and it will be sharing till 5th Sem or so but after that it will be individual rooms for a student and will be shifted to a different building. Figures wise at that time it was around Rs 58000 per year but it is mandatory to pay the mess amount also which will not be refunded and that could be around the same price. It will be expensive for few students.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni network and senior student were quite good whether it is in terms of helping their junior etc but overall the experience has been good with all of them. All were quite decent and professional.

Exam Structure :

There are 3 internals and 4th one if required for students whose score are less and Labs exam were just a week before the finals. Overall during the finals normally its a bit hectic for a person and exams are normally with 1 day gap. Lab test are done only as a part of exercise but not considered in terms of scoring.

Admission :

Upon getting the seat through CET selection process, the next process is to collect the form from college and fill all details along with admission document from CET, affidavit of caste within 10 days. The details has to be submitted at the counter and collect the challen and pay it at allahabad bank in the same campus which completes the process.

Faculty :

The faculty overall were quite experienced with respect to their field of research are were also responsible for teaching such respective subject. As most teacher are either Phd holders or under going research, their subject knowledge was quite good. Good detailing of notes etc were provided to students which helps in preparing for tests and exam rather than going through series of book and doing our own research. Over all its quite good experience.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to get placements from their 6th to 7th semester as whatever basic is needed by them to a company is embedded into them. Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, and many other companies visit our college and make many offers. The highest package in my course was 47 L.P.A previous year and average is 7 to 8 L.P.A. Almost all students get placed in our branch almost every year. I just wanna do a start-up after completion of my course and getting my degree.
