S.G.T.B Khalsa college- Why or Why not?

firstly in 2018, I applied for Bcom(Prog.) in Ramjas. The admission form was > 6 pages. I deposited the form at 12 pm and was to wait till the form gets approved waited till 10 pm form wasn't approved. Next day form approved at 3 pm. The admission process was hectic In 2nd cutoff I withdrew my application from Ramjas and got enrolled in SGTB Bcom(hons). The form was of 2 pages submitted a form at 12:45 got approval in 10 minutes college was fully air-conditioned that was not the case with ramjas where I had to wait in hot weather. In 2018 cutoff was 94.75% got increased to 96% in 2019. The counseling day was organized in the auditorium and it was like a proper theatre. It helped form a good image of college infrastructure and counseling was first started with kirtan of sikhs and then the principal counseled us so well. they firstly scared that pursuing CA is not possible with colleges i was pursuing CA but it's possible. Enkindled Minds, CA cell helps CA students in various matters.

I chose Bcom hons as pursuing Bcom hons is easy with CA. Pursuing Eco hons with CA is somewhat difficult. Also Bcom hons can also help to get some good packages. faculty:student=80:1 for 2018 batch. previous batches got ratio 40:1. Faculties are highly educated. The fresher teachers appointed also taught well. Old teachers basically focus on students having good attendance percentage. having higher attendance percebtage can help you get higher marks in internals Term exams are every 6 months and are not much difficult to pass. A study of even 1 month can help to get good grades pursuing CA alongside was not appreciated by teachers teachers focus on books if books have something wrong that doesn't match the bare act teachers always considered book as criteria to give marks

not much internships were offered in 1st or 2nd year some internships in field of accounting and marketing in 3rd year were offered most internships were in field of marketing and students basically have to do that accounting internships were not that much

placements starts in 5th semester companies visited- KPMG (near 45 offers), BDO(only for CA articleship) Delloite (26offers), TresVista(10-15 offers), Bain (near 10 offers) and 4-5 other small comapnies 40% got placements my plans are to pursue CA after getting the degree but placement cell is very rude and strict

fees is 29000 per year and that is 3 times or more fees of other DU colleges hostel have a very high fees hostel fees can match private college fees and quality of water is not good I didn't applied for any campus placement but my friends got a job with delloite (CTC 550000), KPMG (CTC 380000) but both companies took in CPA profile and students have to pursue CPA alongside. also there were placements for 4-5 more companies. some students got placed with tres vista mumbai

annual fest is named as comzone which is conducted in first week or march and its a total fun punjabi singers come in that fest books, journals and newspapers are readily available in library there are ample amount for books for a class of 40 students classrooms are fully air conditioned and with projecters and chalk boards benches are not much good for sitting various inter college cricket matches are conducted in college college has a good hockey team also college has separate TT room, lawn tennis area, GYM(chargeable) the social group is cdf khalsa run by students there are various societies which run under supervision of teachers such as commerce society, Enkindled Minds CA cell, Investment cell, placement society and marketing society
