Rural Agriculture Work Experience

KP

Remarks :

I did not apply for any other college. I cleared the ICAR exam and selected for the first counselling. To get admission in Ranchi Agriculture College under Birsa Agricultural University, two exams are Jharkhand Combined And all India level exam, ICAR. By clearing these exams you will get admission. There are different marks criteria for admission for different categories. The counselling process is quite easy I only filled the counselling firm available on the site and fill all the interested college right there and after someday result released and I got to this college. ICAR paper will be 480 marks. The total number of question is 150.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course consists of all sectors of agriculture. There is 8 semester and in each semester approx 9 - 10 subjects. Our faculty is very good and helpful, most of the professors have PhD degree. The teaching method is good. Exams were taken timely but due to the pandemic schedule is not followed systematically.

Internships Opportunities :

No internship opportunities are available in our college. In place of internship in third year RAWE program will be held to understand the rural status, situations as well as the technologies adapted by the farmers. For developing skills to work with farmers and provide them with our scientific or modern knowledge of farming There are many research project of junior or senior scientist.

Placement Experience :

From eight semester students became eligible for campus placement but the campus placement is not good as expected. Most of the students are only preparing for government exams like Agriculture Field Officers or NABARD or IFFCO or UPSC or SSC.

Fees and Financial Aid :

Each semester fees are different approx 3500 rupees per semester. E -Kalyan scholarships are available for students except for the general category and only for the Jharkhand domicile students. ICAR selected students also get scholarships from the ICAR. Many componies came here for campus selection. Like dairy, fertilizer or seed companies.

Campus Life :

Birsa Jayanti, Kisan Mela, Christmas eve, and many other fests celebrated grandly. There are two huge libraries in which almost every boom present. Many sports events are held by the faculty all over the development of students. Our seniors made an app named agricapsule which contains all notes, videos related to all semesters as well as competitive exams. And our college site is birsa agricultural university Ranchi.

Hostel Facilities :

Our room contains two or a maximum of three beds and sometimes single bad also available. But generally for the juniors maximum rooms are three seaters. The room also contains attached washrooms. Our Hostel also provides a gym for the fitness of the students. The meal quality is good. Each day of a week they provide different food items. The hostel is allotted by the university after counselling. Our mesh fee is almost 2200 per month and room rent is very minimum.

Placement Experience:

After 7th semester, the students are eligible for campus placements. There is also internships provided during the last semester which is a good oppotunity for placement. Each year 8 to 10 companies or more visits for the placements. Many students are interested in higher degrees after graduation, so they also go for post graduation and doctorate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course has high job security and high vacancy in India. Ratio 1:60 teacher: student. All faculty are highly educated with phd degrees. Every 6-month semester exam goes on and it was very tough to pass the exam

Placement Experience:

You are eligible for placement in the 8th Semester. You have on campus as well as off campus placement. Students had grabbed good placements in various private firms mostly banking with an average package of 4-6 LPA. Since I am a first year student. I don't know much about placement and Internships. But you will get more opportunities in this university than any other agricultural university in this state. And in the coming future, the demand will increase for agriculture graduates. Most students who don't take placements prepare for JRF and higher studies or prepare for PCS and various vacancies in both government and private firms providing good posts and salaries. There are many more options to explore than you know now. You will get to know many more options from your professors and seniors.

Placement Experience:

Students in 7th semester are provided industrial internships and the after 8th semester are eligible for campus placement. Companies like JSLPS, BRLPS, SYNGENTA, BAYER,etc come for campus placement. Highest package offered is of 4lkhs/annum. Very few companies come for placement. Because of all this, students prefer for preparing for government jobs and Bank exams. Around 5-10% students opt for capmus placement. My plans after getting degree is to prepare for JRF exam for admission in post graduation course.

Remarks:

Not any negative but the college needs to have a good infrastructure for the growth of the college to the higher levels so that it can compete with other college of the nation. Good Infrastructure will help college in growing its reputation and obviously the students traffic will increase exponentially.
