Remarks :
I had applied for the same degree in different colleges, but comparatively, I found Bishop Heber College more efficient and I gained more knowledge and skills in those 3 years. To join this college, HSC mark would be considered, and a good score in the major subject would be required. The admission process was simple at that time. We had to fill the form, and submit it to the college's office and they will get in touch later. Nowadays the application process has become online, which is really convenient.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was interested in accounting, so I chose B.Com. There was enough amount of faculty to teach and manage the students. The faculty was well qualified and experienced. There were 2 semesters each year. We had semester exams every 3 months. Passing the exams was not that big a deal. Our faculty teaches us well and notes were distributed among the students. We had to prepare those to pass the exam, and extra knowledge was also required to gain a good score.
Placement Experience :
We were eligible for campus placements in the 4th semester. Many reputed companies like Deloitte, CTS, TCS, Infosys, etc., were offered. The highest package provided was 4.6L per annum. Soft skills and training for placements were provided. About 90% of students get placed each year. After getting a degree we'll be either going to a job or will be doing our Masters.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure was quite affordable considering other colleges. And as I studied in an Aided section it was even more affordable. Approximately it is around 13,000 per year. Scholarships are offered to those who truly deserve them. I did not get any but my classmates got.
Campus Life :
Many fests were conducted in our college. Each department conducted its own fest. There were fests that helped in gaining knowledge. Those fests were both knowledge transferable and enjoyable. There is a great library block for the students, which could be utilized by anyone. There are so many books in different sections and journals. Our classroom was so spacious and a green board and projector were also available. When it comes to extracurricular activities anyone who has a certificate in a specialized sport can join and can shine in it. There were 28 clubs including NSS and NCC. It was mandatory that every student had to choose one and volunteer in the club activities and a certificate was also provided at the end.
Hostel Facilities :
Our hostel was inside the college campus. The infrastructure was good. The rooms were so spacious and all facilities were provided including wifi. The food provided in the hostel was good. Tea, coffee, and milk were provided daily. It was of South Indian food. The quality of the food was so good. We had to register for the hostel during the admission process itself. There are many PG and rentals rooms outside the campus also.
