Remarks

I had taken Admission in SGTB KHALSA COLLEGE in English Hons in 1st cutoff. Then I switched over to Daulat Ram College and took admission in history Hons in the second cutoff. I didn't avail any quota. The minimum marks required were 95% for a general category student. The admission took place online and was convenient. There were two counseling sessions, one for the subject and the other for the department. The college has many societies to ensure the all-around development of the student. The faculty of the history department is really good and Is considered one of the best in the entire DU circuit.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose the course as I'm a UPSC aspirant and this course will help me in the exams. The faculty here is one of the best in the entire DU circuit. They are really promising and diligent. The department consists of 8 teachers and around 180 students. In the online mode, they teach us in the best possible ways and provide us the study material on google classroom. The term exams were in OBE mode and were quite easy.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the DRC history department are really less and is easily affordable. They have many scholarships opportunities for the students. Many students in my class have taken assistance from the college in terms of fees.

Campus Life

I've never been to college as I'm a Lockdown batch but I know certain things about DRC from my seniors. The annual fest here is Manjari which is conducted in the month of February March. There are many books in the library and it is one of the best libraries in DU with a whole range of books. The classrooms are were furnished and there are many opportunities for sports in the college. Also, there are around 25 societies in the college.

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Honest review of Pros and Cons of DCAC

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral).My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.

Insights into DRC

After appearing for CUET UG, we make preferences of the desired college and on the basis on the CUET score, colleges are alloted. North or south DRC is the best

The admission process was so long and time taking.There is entrance exam that is CUET for admission in delhi University.The admission will be on the basis of cut off.
