SPECTRA OF IIT DELHI

BS

Remarks :

Around 10000 students currently study at IIT Delhi, among them 55% are the students who pursue masters, PHD, Post doc etc. In my course course i. e. M.Sc Chemistry around 0.5% students of the total strength lies. The admission to M.Sc Chemistry at IIT's is possible by the entrance exam named as "Joint Admission Test (JAM) " Which is usually conducted in the month of february every year. After the annoucement of JAM result around 20 march, counselling process starts in the month of May and finally students get enrolled in the month of july in their respective colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview :

In this course we study about the higher chemistry and its applications in the field of industries, research, material synthesis, medical sciences etc. Every aspect of this course should not be linked to the grades. There should healthy disscussions among the students as it is not possible now because of shortage of time. IIT Delhi usually conducts two minors and one major exam for every course offerd to the students. The weightage of a minor exam is around 20-25 % and major has 50-60% weightage and covers full syllabus. Exams are not difficult, one can easily pass them by consistent study of 2-3 hours daily.

Internships Opportunities :

To improve their hand in handling of chemicals and sophisticated instruments and to learning advance technology, students do apply for internships at many prestigious institutes like IISC Bangalore, TIFR Mumbai, IAS (Indian academy of sciences), IISERs, AIIMS, and many more. Around 40-50% get interned from these institutes every year.

Placement Experience :

In this course, the on campus placements are not much encouraging at IIT Delhi as demand for the post graduates in chemistry is low. But then also many PSU's like ONGC, IOCL, NPCIL, NALCO, CIL, BHEL, GAIL, BARC, DRDO and many more recruits through the common GATE exam or by their own exams. So mostly students prepare for the GATE exam and NET exam which also helps them to get enroll in the Ph. D programs under the pioneers of the research.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Knowledgeable Proffesors always act as continous support system with amicable interactions with the students. The teaching quality is good but plenty syllabus sometimes leads to depression. Not fully but partially the curriculum is relevant and helps the students to develop attitude as similar as they are going to have in their near future. I have chosen this course as I contains the things in which I am really interested in. The best thing about this course is introduction to advanced core chemistry. Many foreign universities Visits IIT Delhi for selecting the research scholars. Students do often get jobs by cracking competitive exams like GATE, BARC, UPSC- GEO SCIENTIST, DRDO, etc. In this course, Institute only provides Merit-cum-means (MCM) scholarship to those students which are good in academics as well as have weak financials.

Campus Life :

IIT Delhi created a benchmark in field of infrastructure including fully furnished high tech classrooms with projectors, smart board, on head cameras and their live casting for the better visualisation. High speed wi-fi all over the campus. Labs at IIT Delhi are equipped with advanced instruments like 800MHz NMR, IR, DSC, XRD, HPLC and many more. IITD 24ÌÑ7 central is its heart with huge collection of books for the students, it always aims to provide newly published books. Library encloses a huge hall where around 2000 can read at a time. CSC (Computer Services Centre) has high speed computers with large display for the students to work convienently. The IITD's fest named RENDEZVOUS is famous all over India. During the days of fest IITD is much populated with science ethuthiasts, music lovers, fitness freaks, foodies, shopholics and photogenics. It usually occurs during mid-sem break so that whole IITD community can enjoy it to the fullest. Centre of attraction during fest is the music night where world famous singers perform. SAC (student activity centre) at IIT Delhi provide a platform to the students to enjoy extra curricular activities day and night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

LL.B course often makes you know the aspects of the Indian Legal System. It makes you aware of the Legal Philosophy and Jurisprudence in India. It makes one an aware and responsible citizen. This has influenced me to choose this course. In DU Law Faculty CLC we are taught through the Case Study method which is a unique method adopted from the USA. Moreover, we have our exams usually in a 4-5 month gap after 4 months of semester classes.

The curriculum is very good and it is updated recently so it is one of the best things in our college. They should add some coding events in our syllabus for more practical knowledge in that particular language so a student can grab it easily.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course structure is comprehensive as I am from a language course so for me it's quite hard to manage alongwith the optional course that is compulsory in graduation. The faculty is equipped with the language lab for the audio and visual experience to the students. The exams are conducted on the regular basis, 4 exams including first sessional second sessional mid term and end sem. The difficulty levels depend on the Professors mood.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I didn't know this course at the time of admission. My parents influenced me to choose this course and no matter how much pressure the Life Sciences students have to go through, this is a great course. With Zoology, Botany and Chemistry as its main domains, it offers a diversity of knowledge that may seem cumbersome over a short period, but actually, it is very beneficial for someone like me who is not interested in pursuing honours in a specific subject. Yes, the file work requires a lot of effort. The diagrams, the theory learning, attending all classes, assignments, reports, etc. It is challenging, so one must keep all these points in mind while opting for this course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good. It helps you to get basic to intermediate knowledge. Improvement is needed in books because books are very complex to understand. The question papers provided in the exam are mostly between medium to difficult level which is quite good. It clears your basics. For instance, Improvement is needed in exam checking giving low marks.
