Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is outdated according to present technology and development. It is based more on theory rather than practicals. Hence the knowledge gained is bookish. The prescribed textbooks have too many unnecessary information which are outdated and not used in present years. The exam is NEET - UG, which was conducted by the CBSE in 2017.The exam consists of three subjects. Biology, physics and chemistry. The questions have 4 options. We have to mark the answer.Correct answer gets 4 marks and wrong gets negative 1.The paper has 180 questions. So 720 marks in total. 90 questions are of biology, 45 each of physics and chemistry.3 hours are given to attend the questions.
Placement Experience :
Our college provides us with internship with stipend. The work to money ratio is bad, but it is worth the experience and skill you develop after one year of internship. The college doesn't assure any job opportunities, but in the field of MBBS, one can get a job easily. The government of Karnataka also gives us a job near rural areas with a handsome salary.
College Events :
The college conducts a wide variety of programs.A workshop for skills and competition among different colleges.Kannada Balaga exhibition - event to celebrate the rich culture and heritage of the local languageKannada balaga annual daySports and co-curricular activitiesInter-university sports meetStudent exchange programsAll major festivals of India
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure ranges from a few thousand rupees a year upto 30 lakh rupees per year. The students from a low income background can get reserved seats with less fees which is feasible. The NRI students have to pay a huge sum to get into the college. In general, the fee structure is expensive
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The loan is not given by the college. Rather, it is given by some banks like the state bank. The loan has very low rate of interest and the collateral to be shown is also less. The repay time is also flexible. As for scholarship, the Karnataka Government gives it to underprivileged students.
Campus Life :
Labs are very well equipped and there are enough hours for them. The time in clinics and hospitals are also good. There are many events to show skills in music, dance, debates, etc. There are more than 3 events at different levels for sports
Alumni/Alumna :
The seniors help the juniors a lot.May it be helping for exam preparation, or other activities. They even lend their books to juniors. They help in teaching the juniors how to behave in the college and in front of the professors.
Admission :
NEET - UG is an entrance exam for entering into the medical field in India. 11 lakh students write the exam every year. I wrote the exam in the year 2017.The All India Ranks are awarded based on ranks. Each state conducts a counselling to fill up 75% of their seats. In Karnataka, it is done through KEA.I had to register through KEA. The rank list was put up. Then I made a list of colleges and applied to the colleges in the first round of counselling through KEA.My seat was confirmed and I had to pay the fees at the KEA head office in Bengaluru.I got the admission form and I submitted the same at my college and got admitted.
Faculty :
It's balanced. Some professors/doctors are highly qualified and can teach us a lot. Some on the other hand are not so good at interacting with the students. Some professors really help us in linking the textbooks with clinical practice
