Remarks

When someone talks about Mumbai, and especially "SOUTH BOMBAY" one has to talk about MARINE DRIVE and JAI HIND COLLEGE. Jai Hind is a very reputed college in Mumbai with an impeccable faculty (talking about BMM). I don't find anything bad about this college, except the attendance :P The admission process is fun in Bombay and it's pretty much the same in every college. You take all the required documents and stand in a 2-hour long queue before your chance comes, and if you fall under the desired percentage category, you are on the list, or else you are on the waiting list. This usually happens in June. Once you are in you have to attend an orientation and that's just it. Welcome to Jai Hind. The only reason/s I prefer Jai Hind over any other college is one- the location. You walk for literally 1 minute and bam! Marine drive is right there. I mean who doesn't like marine drive. Another reason is the reputation of the college. Jai Hind has a very big name in almost all industries.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I am in BMM second year. The course is just fine. I mean it's fun for sure. You make ads, movies, short films, scripts etc. you make contacts in your 3 year course. I chose this course only because it's fun. There are 2 sections in every year- A and B with 70 students in every section. The faculty is amazing. Every professor is related to the respective industry they teach about. Every day there are 2 classes so the professors attend to every student equally. And the alumni? Kiara Advani, Varun Thakur, I mean you name it. Fortunately or unfortunately I don't know, I didn't give my final exams offline. The first year was cancelled, and the second year final exams are yet to happen online.

Placement Experience

3

I won't talk about other courses but mine, because I don't know about them. In your 3rd year, you get to give interviews and before your final exams, you get your job. The number of companies visits the college including NDTV, CNBC etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very reasonable. And every year the fees gets lesser and lesser. But the college reimburses it with a credit course. Don't worry you'll get to know once you get in. The college is very kind with internships, especially in your 2nd year. The companies that come for job interviews are globally known and very reputed.

Campus Life

4.5

Don't even get me started with the social life. Because I can go on and on and on with it. Jai hind has arguably the best college crowd in all of Mumbai, and the best crowd any college could have. Everybody is super friendly on the campus and you can just get along with people so easily. Then there are clubs- social/ music/sports/drama- you name it. Classrooms are centrally air conditioned. The annual fest of each department is the best thing for the students. I will talk about my department's fest- DETOUR. It's a 3 day fest packed with events like dance drama fashion shows and sports. Colleges from all over Mumbai participate in the fest and compete. It's an experience on its own.

Interview Experience

4

There was no GD during the admission process. You just have to take the required documents with your latest mark sheet and thats it. Though there is kind of an interview with the HOD of the course you apply for once you get in. But its just an introduction and its impromptu.

Other Applied Colleges

Mithibai college | BMM

Jai Hind is wayyyy better.

so do we get placement in our college? From first year to third year, placement is given every year. In the first year, internship is given. First job opportunities start coming which keep coming for some time. A group of college is formed. Whatever information or requirement comes regarding placement is given in that group. yes, he keeps putting it. Then you have to give interview according to that, if you get selected then that is good enough, if not then you can fill out any other form that will come up in some other place by feeling safe

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.
