Premier Institue for research and education in India

Remarks :

The reason why I chose TISS was very personal. I was interested in pursuing Human Resource as a discipline, and TISS is simply the best for HR. Its unique curriculum, which goes beyond a typical MBA college, provides a plethora of opportunities. The diversity offered at TISS is amazing. You get to meet so many new people in and across your department. A strong curriculum focusing on experiential learning through fieldwork internships followed by an NGO stint gives a great learning opportunity. TISS has a strong legacy in HR, with one of the best placements in the country with an unmatched ROI. The small batch size helps to build a very strong bonding among batchmates and faculty members which are highly supportive. There is a saying that"TISS is not your typical B school" and it stands true. With its unique pedagogy and diverse culture, it stands tall as an institution that is a pioneer and torchbearer of revolution for social revitalization.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is well designed. The pedagogy is unique in the sense that it focuses on experiential learning through fieldwork internships all through the four semesters along with building a base through a solid theoretical understanding. At last, the course ends with an NGO stint. The batch size is around 70, therefore, the faculty to students ratio is quite healthy. The faculty are experts in their fields and are very supportive. Also, the camaraderie that develops among the students is really good. . The courses test students on their understanding of the subjects hence eradicating the notion of rote learning. Different subjects have different evaluation criteria. The course gives emphasis on building a research mindset and every student has to write a dissertation as a part of the curriculum.

Internships Opportunities :

The institute sees participation from all the top brands like ABG, TAS, HUL, Nestle, Asian Paints, Mahindra Group, Amazon, RIL, Accenture, Citi, Samsung, etc. The summer internship is something that every student looks forward to as it adds a great learning experience along with a chance to bag a pre-placement offer. Apart from it the students also undergo fieldwork internships with many of these organizations all through the four semesters.

Placement Experience :

TISS provides assistance to students for their placements. The summer, lateral and final placements see participation from all the top brands in the country from various sectors. According to the 2020 placement report, one in every five students of the batch got a salary above 25 lakhs with the median salary of the batch being 20.25 lakhs against a course fee of 1.15 lakhs making it an unparalleled institute when it comes to placements with a very strong ROI.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

TISS makes sure that no student is rejected due to her/his financial condition. There are numerous scholarships and financial assistance given for the same. TISS, being a pioneer in HR, excels in placements as well as attracting all the major MNCs for the summer and final placement. The median package of the batch is around 20 lakhs making it an institute with an unmatched ROI.

Campus Life :

Campus life at TISS is amazing. It is lush green and very vibrant. The courses are designed so that you get to meet many people, not just limited to your department. Students are provided with access to a huge number of books and journals. The HRM & LR programme at TISS consists of four student-run committees, the Placement Committee, the Alumni Committee, the Editorial Committee, and the Forum. Apart from it, there are many committees beyond the programme at the institute level.

Interview Experience :

Right after writing TISS NET, the GD/PI process of TISS, aka the PIT/PI process, is very smooth with the Aspirants Relations Committee (ARC), a student-run committee, taking nice care of candidates who come to the campus for the process. TISS is very adaptable; hence the batch of 2022 went through an online PI due to Covid-19. The overall process was very good, with interviews focusing on the candidate's personality and fit for the course rather than throwing some random unknown questions from the panelists. The best way to ace the PIT/PI process is to be updated with current affairs, know yourself as an individual and why you want to study a particular course at TISS. The best thing about TISS is that it accepts students by their interests in the program; hence even if you don't have a stellar profile or have a gap due to some reason, you're always welcomed at TISS if you prove yourself through the written tests, PIT & PI process.

I am studying political science at postgraduate level in savitribai phule pune university. Our course structure is good. It covers basic fundamental of subject. Teachers deeply teach core concepts. But they lack on real world application. They dont focus on market demands. Students of political science finds hard to get placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements in general are quite great, because of how longstanding the university's reputation is. I was especially pleased with the internship opportunities provided, because of which I even landed a job. However, one batch in every few years may face the brunt of a bad job market. But students can keep in touch with their classmates/seniors for opportunities

Interset in the course , job availability and reputation of the college is the main factor for choosing this college . They spend time understand the context of students and sensetheir needs . Every thing is perfect but the lectures are too big of 2 hour/- for a lecture . The period for prepration for the exam is very long and enough to prepare for exam .

Placement Experience:

The students join in large numbers in this college because of better placements only. They are aware of the same before admission. There is a placement cell called CGPC on the campus which consists of students from the final year. They take care of the students' placement needs. There are many companies like BAIF, Pradan, Kudumbshree, Rajivika, Bihar SRLM, MP SRLS, ORMAS, OLM, Antra, APF, etc. 100% of students get placed from all the courses. Some students of SIE go for establishing their own business enterprise and they do not sit for placements, some want to go for higher studies. Those who wish to get a job all get a job.

Placement Experience:

Throughout the year few on campus job interviews were held but there were not too much opportunities were presented but the offers were always very good. There were no guide lines or age restrictions for these interviews. These companies were either small local or small japan based companies who were looking to hire young generation.
