SANUF THAJ's Review On College Of Engineering Perumon, Kollam

Remarks :

This college is ranked second in Kollam and eighth in Kerala out of all the other engineering colleges. The staff are well educated and are trained well. The college is situated away from the city but they do provide college buses for students

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because I personally love to interact with computers. There are enough faculties (about 2 faculties for 60 students ratio ) and they are highly skilled.each semester will have 2 series exams and an end semester exam.

Placement Experience :

Students after the 7th semester are eligible for placements. Many companies are there like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, UST global, byjus, Leap and many more. The students are offered According to there CGPA attained during the course.

College Events :

We have many programs through out the year. we have onam celebrations, Union day, Kerala piravi day, tech fest (ADHVYKA,in February),arts festival (Nahasra,in March/april).The campus has a two storeyed library where students can refer for books, journals, Guidebooks. The courses are all NDA affiliated with digital classrooms. We do have social groups like NSS and clubs like IEEE,CSI which hosts student workshops every now and then. The campus have two large grouds for students to do physical activities and sports.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The course fee is 35000 for general merit students. 75000 for the management seat and NRI students with additional expenses for all students. They do provide scholarships for those who cannot afford. There is the MCM scholarships, Muslim scholarship, means cum merit scholarship etc

Hostel Facilities :

I don't go by the hostel so I can't give an honest review, But I have friends who are satisfied with the hostel experience. Sry I cannot give more info about the hostel facilities

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for the campus placements in the 6th semester. The average students getting placed in the mechanical department are about 30%. My plan after completing my mechanical engineering degree is to go for masters in business administration

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum contains a vast area of nursing aspects and they include OSKI as a new component of the nursing curriculum which prepares as well enough to face the job interviews ahead. But the time limit is so short that we find it difficult to complete the syllabus on time. As the syallabus has changed to semester system we are expected to write exams more frequently but that is good as it helps as to improve our writing skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Architecture is a tough and time taking course, the syllabus fine in the first three years but later on it becomes hectic. Maybe the syllabus can be reduced and I feel that five years is too long for architecture degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course mainly because of the job opportunities. There is plenty of teaching and non-teaching staff in the college. All the teaching staff has Mastered nursing and all are very talented teachers. The teaching method is lecturing and av aids are also used by the teachers like projectors. The exams are conducted after the completion of each unit. It's an average tough exam to score good marks. The only problem is that exams will be conducted daily and the personal behavior of some staff may vary from person to person.

Placement Experience:

No campus placement is provided by college because it is a government college. After getting degree I planned to practice in Kerala high court and also wants to attempt judicial service examination. I also planned to join LLM at central University or in Canada. In Canada there are many opportunities for LLB graduates.
