Remarks :
The teaching departments of Kerala University has its own goodwill from time immemorial. The students get good exposure through various national and international seminars conducted atleast once a year. Also the students are around highly qualified teachers with the 42 departments. We have a huge campus library with good infrastructure and also a department library in each departments. Students had to go through an entrance examination to be qualified for the admission. Out of around 500 candidates only a maximum of 30 gets admission in the department.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course as a continuation of my bachelor's degree. The department has 7 faculties. 4 of them are highly qualified with PHDs and holding high positions at the department and also at the university level. As the qualification of the teachers were very high so are their teachings too. The exams holds its own standard. Its neither too hard not too easy. If you work you can succeed with flying colours. I took admission on 25th September 2018.
Placement Experience :
As University teaching departments are mainly for students who wish to seek teaching careers after the program our university offer little opportunity for campus placements. Most of the students go for higher studies like M.Phil. or they register for PhD. Most of the students try to qualify UGC NET during their course itself. Those who are not immediately going for higher studies they go for teaching at various colleges if they are UGC NET qualified.
College Events :
The life at Campus is so beautiful. Actually it had to potential to take you to success and also to defeat. We the students has to choose the path. We have a huge campus library working till 12 at midnight and also we have a department library each. We celebrate all the festivals in our campus. Each department has atleast one smart classroom, an open defence hall and many projectors too. Also we have youth festival every year and also sports fest. Our campus have a students union too working for the interest of the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
I didn't had to pay much fees to the university other than exam fees. An initial deposit of Rs. 5000 has been given by through e-grants scholarship. It is very easy to avail so my government scholarships. Other than that it is not very expensive to study at the Kerala University departments.
Admission :
Yes, there was a written test to be qualified to get admitted into the department. Around 500 students from all over Kerala had registered for the test and after I have qualified the test I had an interview and got admitted.
