NEEDS FURNISHING

Remarks :

Management is disappointment sometimes. But the College Unions stand up for students and it's very active. The College Unions make colleges a better place as they stand us a Barrier for helpless students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

To be honest, am not so fond of the curriculum because all of it's just bookish. Students don't get understand their subjects in depth or analyse it clearly because the only motive becomes completing the portions and mugging up for examinations which mostly happen last minute. I was completely driven to physics, the science amd mechanism behind many things which to this day gets me curious, but my syllabus was a disappointment. It's not the fault of any colleges in general but unfortunately this is how it is here. The system needs to change.

Placement Experience :

Infosys, TCS, Wipro and some other IT companies do hire students and placement cell is good. But students tend to not attend or consider any of them much because the bond and T&C that they demand from each and every fresh intern is so much as in 5 years or so, which kind of is not so fair to the young graduates. More students tend to back out. The recruitment process mainly would be an online or written examination followed by interviews with the team.

College Events :

We have Cultural Fests, Sports meet, exhibitions, presentation competitions observed in response to special days. Pi day observance, Seminar and talks of distinguished personalities. Many scientific as well as experimental oppurtunites arise from them.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It is feasible. Even though the labs are not so monitored or good as it needs to be,lab fees are always high. It's not 100 percent transparent or anything, but not clearly opaque either. They'll let you know when to pay and we are bound to that. Sometimes they may seem totally unnecessary though. Many funds like PTA and many more which actually doesn't happen to boon us anyways.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I had Egrant which covers my academic fees which is given to students with annual income less or in between 1-2 lacks.

Campus Life :

Campus was heaven. We became more responsible and aware about our current situations. It made us strong enough to raise our voice and respond when it was necessary. The unity and compassion between students is appreciable. From bringing food for the one who doesn't have one to contributing for building a house for fellow students or treatment of friends or anything, students were at epitome.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes, I was a hosteler. The rents are very high and may not seem fair all the time. They increase the room rent every year when they don't even do anything constructive about the rooms, basically it's a small, tiny room with 4 students in it. The food is good but it's pricy if you look at the rooms provided.

Alumni/Alumna :

Not anything that I heard of. There's alumni network and all but don't know how it will help us. Since we didn't have an opportunity of such.

Admission :

I scored an aggregate of 93% for my plus two higher secondary examinations conducted by Directorate of Higher Secondary Examinations, kerala. I was shortlisted under the community quota merit ranklist of my current college and St.Gregorious College, kottarakara, kollam under the general merit ranklist of University of Kerala. I chose TKM College of Arts and Science and am currently on my last stage of completion of my Physics graduation.

Faculty :

They were fine-ish. We couldn't blame them because all our university expects from them is to somehow complete the portions, again which is not necessary, they don't care and correct our answer sheets. Teachers are in this constant conflicts as they are in the race to complete the assigned portion. There's no room for development.

The students become eligible for the campus placements in the 6th semester. The average students getting placed in the mechanical department are about 30%. My plan after completing my mechanical engineering degree is to go for masters in business administration

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum contains a vast area of nursing aspects and they include OSKI as a new component of the nursing curriculum which prepares as well enough to face the job interviews ahead. But the time limit is so short that we find it difficult to complete the syllabus on time. As the syallabus has changed to semester system we are expected to write exams more frequently but that is good as it helps as to improve our writing skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Architecture is a tough and time taking course, the syllabus fine in the first three years but later on it becomes hectic. Maybe the syllabus can be reduced and I feel that five years is too long for architecture degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course mainly because of the job opportunities. There is plenty of teaching and non-teaching staff in the college. All the teaching staff has Mastered nursing and all are very talented teachers. The teaching method is lecturing and av aids are also used by the teachers like projectors. The exams are conducted after the completion of each unit. It's an average tough exam to score good marks. The only problem is that exams will be conducted daily and the personal behavior of some staff may vary from person to person.
