Aashish Baroor A's Review On BMS College Of Engineering - [BMSCE], Bangalore

Entrance Preview :

I joined BMSCE through COMEDK. I had a rank of 5707. I like Mechanical Engineering and it has great research prospects compared to other branches and I will have many options.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course design is good. There's a self study component where students need to do mini projects like working models, paper presentations etc, and are evaluated. The self study components really help students understand the concepts and also help in its applications.

Internships Opportunities :

I don't know about it as I am still in 2nd year. I hope they provide or at least guide us to get good internship opportunities and provide for better learning.

Placement Experience :

I don't know but hear there's more than 85% placement and really good companies visit. There's a very good placement training during the higher semester and provide us with good opportunities. Many well known companies visit and in many cases there are 100% placement.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is feasible for CET and COMEDK students and I don't know about management. For students through cet its ₹22000 and for Comedk its ₹ 170000 and it decreases each year.I feel the fee structure is feasible compared to other colleges and BMS provides good opportunities and learning experience.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are many student loans offered and scholarships too by government. I haven't availed any scholarship but many of my friends have which is provided by the state government.

Campus Life :

The campus life is great with no restrictions on what you wear or where you hangout. The gender ratio is good in all branches and in mechanical inherently there are very few girls. There are many international students from various countries and there's no intolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status.

Exam Structure :

It is well balanced with 3 internals with option of writing any 2 or all the three. There's an external exam which is of good standard. Basically it's not that hectic and gives students sufficient time to study. Labs are good and it also consists with internal and external exams.

Faculty :

Faculty is well experienced with many young assistant professors. My department has the highest number of faculties and almost all of them are post graduates with many of them having done their PhD. Senior are faculty have great teaching experience and are helpful and kind.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to get placements from their 6th to 7th semester as whatever basic is needed by them to a company is embedded into them. Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, and many other companies visit our college and make many offers. The highest package in my course was 47 L.P.A previous year and average is 7 to 8 L.P.A. Almost all students get placed in our branch almost every year. I just wanna do a start-up after completion of my course and getting my degree.
