Aravind R's Review On Farook College, Kozhikode

Remarks :

One of the best colleges in Kerala. I was interested in journalism and I believed Farook College will provide me ample facilities and support in my studies. The atmosphere of the campus is so pleasing too.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The College provided good support throughout the course of my study. Even though the technical knowledge provided was little less, the textual stuff and assignments will truly make the students more excellent in linguistic approach towards a topic.

Internships Opportunities :

Deshabhimani Newspaper

Placement Experience :

The college provides campus placements for some courses only. For MA Mass Communication and Journalism, no placements are provided. There are many students who got placed to certain companies which are purely based on their merit.

College Events :

The campus promoted events which could play an integral part in the overall development of the students. Debate competitions, arts fest, quizzes, speech competitions, media fests, and programmes conducted by the NSS and NCC units made the campus life more enjoyable.

Campus Life :

The college provided ample facilities. The college excelled in educational results and also promotes sports like football, cricket, softball etc. The college provided free wifi to the students and teachers which helped in an advanced usage of technical gadgets which facilitated the study process

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel rooms are quite good and a single room is shared by 3 people in the 1st floor and single rooms are provided in the ground floor. The bathrooms are common and students can charge their electronic gadgets outside the rooms. The hostel also provides sports equipments and the hostel union is elected and programmes are conducted which makes the hostel life more enjoyable.

The students become eligible for the campus placements in the 6th semester. The average students getting placed in the mechanical department are about 30%. My plan after completing my mechanical engineering degree is to go for masters in business administration

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum contains a vast area of nursing aspects and they include OSKI as a new component of the nursing curriculum which prepares as well enough to face the job interviews ahead. But the time limit is so short that we find it difficult to complete the syllabus on time. As the syallabus has changed to semester system we are expected to write exams more frequently but that is good as it helps as to improve our writing skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Architecture is a tough and time taking course, the syllabus fine in the first three years but later on it becomes hectic. Maybe the syllabus can be reduced and I feel that five years is too long for architecture degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course mainly because of the job opportunities. There is plenty of teaching and non-teaching staff in the college. All the teaching staff has Mastered nursing and all are very talented teachers. The teaching method is lecturing and av aids are also used by the teachers like projectors. The exams are conducted after the completion of each unit. It's an average tough exam to score good marks. The only problem is that exams will be conducted daily and the personal behavior of some staff may vary from person to person.

No campus placement is provided by college because it is a government college. After getting degree I planned to practice in Kerala high court and also wants to attempt judicial service examination. I also planned to join LLM at central University or in Canada. In Canada there are many opportunities for LLB graduates.
