Saumya Srivastavas's Review On University Of Allahabad - [AU], Allahabad

SS

Remarks :

Because this college is in my home town so that I could study from home, and my main subject is vocal (singing), being at home avails me music classes facilities easily and I can practice or do Riyaz whenever I want to.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I think my course's syllabus is up to date, recently changes have been made and My course for graduation is for 4 years instead of 3. Yes we have been served with so much of experiences and chances by participating in different kinds of workshops and programs.

Placement Experience :

Placement and job opportunities are also good, most of the students who graduated from my college are working for NVS, KVS and other reputed institutions.

College Events :

College authorities conduct different festivals and events on time, and whatever it is we are specially invited being music students, we perform programs and opening ceremonies. They are organised on wide level, and it feels like every student has participated into it.

Campus Life :

Campus infrastructure is, not so good but it's ok for studies. Library is so good it it has two floors, bottom one is for research scholars, and upper one os for us and whenever we are assigned with some work we go to library only. Wi-fi facilities has been provide inside the department.

Hostel Facilities :

I haven't opted for hostel, but hostel facilities are also good, 1st year students live in share with one person and 2nd year onwards room is provided singularly. Campus is full of greenery and healthy atmosphere.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good in my college. In 5 semesters students started becoming eligible for campus placement. The companies visited TCS, reliance, Zomato, Kota Bank, Infosys, Ola, OYO, uber, Amazon etc The highest ever package received by students in the college of my course is 800000. lakhs rupees. Per annum. 40-50%students get placement in my college. My plan after college is to preparation for the CAT exam. Get into a top college for MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The terms were on time mostly and it was easy to pass if we were attending lectures and assignments on time as it is a practical based course rather than much based on theory. The teachers were helpful in most of the scenarios but some subjects were not handled properly as the faculty teaching it used to keep changing. Rest mostly all of the teachers were good.

Placement Experience:

More specifically if I am talking about placement is that if you want to get good placements in dei that you must maintain your sgpa at least 8 points for you to appear in the placement cell. There are many companies visited in college like torrent power for electrical branch and other for their respective branches. Around 60% of students get their placements through college and it also depends on students' ability and skills. Since I am in the 4th semester so yes from 3rd year students get their training or internship through college to students with good grades. So you must have to maintain at least 8 sgpa for better placements.

Admission:

To get admission, I had to first fill application form and then pay a small fee for applying to the college, then after submitting the marks scored in 10+2, students were called for a campus interview upon which the students were selected.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are quite limited, but these opportunities will be increased within the upcoming years, there is high competition among the students to acquire the placements.

College management is good they are some merits and demerits of everything so this college also have some demerits also like some teachers and proctors are rude and not helpful but mostly people around there are helpful so overall this college is really good if you want teaching and discipline because they are strict in maintaining disciplines.

Remarks:

The one thing which is deteriorating the Masters level education in India is the double-mindedness of most of the GATE aspirants. Those with lower ranks join institutes of national importance such as ours just for the sake of the monthly stipend and the time they would get for GATE preparation. Such students waste the opportunity for someone else who is really interested in research, but could not get there due to low GATE score. It is high time that we prioritize our needs and act accordingly; it can only boost the research temperament among the student community.
