Remarks :

Panjab university is among the top universities in India . The atmosphere of the campus is also good . Panjab University ‘s pharmacy department is one of the best in the country . It has achieved under 100 ranking in country’s best colleges. Being governmental education institution, fee structure is also very reasonable and less . For admission in B pharmacy , you have to qualify Pu CET ( UG ) and you must have minimum 50% in your 12th standard ( Physics , chemistry , biology or physics , chemistry , mathematics ) The 75% of your entrance and 25% of merit serves as a criteria for admission . Course Curriculum Overview :

Pharmacy is a good course having wide scope . Student teachers ratio is good in this department . A total of 46 + 6 NRI seats are there . Faculty is highly experienced and knowledgeable. Many of the professors have got national awards as well as lots of patents. All the teachers are PhD . Two semesters are there . Final examination take place once in a semester and mid - semester exams also happen once in a semester. If you attend classes , you will be able to get good marks in examination

Placement Experience :

Placement cell of UIPS is very active . Every year various companies come for hiring post graduate students . Many of the students go for further education that is M pharmacy .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fee structure - General (14,665)/ per year NRI - $ 5,005/- + Rs 6235 / annum Fee hikes don’t happen occasionally due to student political parties and if fee hike take place it’s very small . Companies do come to hire students and every year number of students get hired by top pharmaceutical companies .

Campus Life :

Annuals fests do take place regularly in campus . Freshers and farewell is there for new admissions and graduated students , respectively. A lot of books are available there in department library as well as central library of university. Central library of the university remains open for 24* 7 . Extracurricular and sports are also there in campus and in hostels . There are various organizations and student political parties in campus .

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are provided on the basis of scores in PU- CET. If your scores are good , you will get hostel accommodation. Facilities in hostels include gym , mess , reading room and many others .Study table and chair is also provided in the room along with bed and almirah . Meals in hostel are good and are taken care of hygiene . Annual charges of hostel are as low as 10,000 per annum. The cost of per meal is 30 INR . If a student is unable to get hostel , he / she can rent a PG in 15 sector which is nearby the university . Each room costs about 5000/ month without food .

An In-Depth Look at Campus Life and opportunities at Chandigarh University

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i have opted the course B.Pharmacy! I rate the course as optimal, neither too bad nor too good, its medium! Now comes on teaching method, some teachers are really well and good and few are those who does not teaches but only writing writing, thats it, they will not explain at all! And one thing they should change is that All Courses except B.Pharmacy in Chandigarh University have the criteria to pass the student even below the 40% only or the half of the highest number scored by the topper in the class, and for Bpharmacy its minimum requirement to pass the exam is 50%, Oh My God! This needs to be changed, Now every year, in Bpharmacy, the overall 80% students are getting Compartments (Back/Fail) in the subjects, but the University is not understanding it all. So this should be changed as earlier!

Placement Experience:

You are eligible for campus placement in 2nd last semester student, Mahindra Jio Wipro Bebo technology etc companies in college. The highest package in college offered by Wipro company is 700000 and the normal average package is 20000. 95 percent of students get placement. Business is my plan after degree.

Remarks:

Postive about the University is its infrastructure and facilities provided to the students. Negative are the rules, there are tons of the rules imposed over the student limiting them to feel the courtesy and pride in visiting the college every day.
