Student's Review On Post Graduate Government College, Chandigarh

Remarks :

One of the prominent college of North India giving access to all neccesities of life other than studies. They have good sports complex for playing every sport. It has the gymnasium facility along with swimming pool. Most important the atmosphere of college is very pleasant and the teachers are well qualified with many years of teaching experience.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Syllabus was up to date as per UGC guidelines. As per my degree it didn't need any industrial exposure but courses requiring such exposure are definitely provided with such opportunities. the faculty was very good and quite understanding. They are always ready to provide help to students whether in studies or be it any other help.

Placement Experience :

Job and placement are not very prominent because they do not offer any professional degree. Most of the companies that visit the campus provide job for call centre at a package of 2,00,000. But still the career and placement cell is very good. They help the students to approach companies themselves if they want to apply for any other company that is not coking to campus for placement.

College Events :

They were many cultural program being organised specially on the occasion of different festivals like Baisakhi Holi Diwali. Also they conduct time to time different fests within a particular department on the occasion of science day national geographic day and many more. they were mostly intra college in which students from different colleges usually participate.

Campus Life :

All sport equipments were there. WiFi is not there Labs are fully equipped with latest instruments and chemicals. They are also equipped with AC.Library has a huge collection of books with different sections. There is also separate section for post graduates.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel was amazing. It has twin sharing with 110 rooms. It is available on merit basis and they also consider reservation. Overall the atmosphere is very pleasant and very friendly. It is not easy to avail hostel facility. It is available only on merit basis.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is relevant but can be improved as they sre still following the old books and old methods of teaching. The semester exams happen at the last of every semester. Also there are mid term exams and class test tgat help the students to score good.

Placement Experience:

MBA students have 2 internships, one being chemical core internship, which is done after 3 year for 2 months which is not shifted to last semester of 4th year for 6 months. Apart from this, there is a 2 month internship for MBA part. Earlier it was 2 months but now it is, also 6 months in the last semester. MBA students gets their internships done, both paid and unpaid included. But for placements, that story is not so good.

Placement Experience:

The placements are just average. Companies come everyday or everyweek. Placement drive keeps running all time. Packages above 10 LPA have very very high competition. Courses have everything to crack a good package off campus. But students aren't studious they don't know anything they just blame the university
