Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum I passed 12th grade from commerce and developed a keen interest in accounts and finance. The course structure at the university covered the principles of Accountancy, finance, banking, insurance and marketing. The course was designed as per the latest market trends. This helped the students to pursue further specialized courses in sales, analytics, operations and finance. The integrated training used to happen weekly in the campus where we got insights from the several industry guides. They taught us the practical applicability of the subjects that were taught in the classrooms. It was designed to incorporate fun and learning. The exam was held semester wise that followed a descriptive pattern. We were given sufficient holidays in between the exams to prepare for it.

Placement Experience :

Placement The university has set up a unit called Career Services Office (CSO) that acts as a interface between the industry and students, thus placing the students at the top notch companies of the country. Some of the top recruiters include HCL, Jindal steel and power, Genpact, JSW, IMS, Mahindra, Nalwa steel and power and Collabera. 82% of the students were placed from the 2014-18 batch. The highest package ranges at INR 7.0 LPA while the average package stands at INR 4.75 LPA. The manufacturing sector employed 40% of the total students recruited followed by Infrastructure (11%). The CSO organizes various activities throughout the session like summer internship and training, industrial visits and case studies, career counseling and short term project trainings. The students are interned with some of the best recruiters who then place them in their company. Some of these internships are paid while others are unpaid. I worked for two months as a summer intern at Bajaj Capitals and they paid me a stipend of INR 15,000 per month. This helped me to become aware of the industry needs and the work environment.

College Events :

There are various fests organized in the campus which enables the students to participate in the events and showcase their talent. There is the talent hunt held for the freshers in the university. The School of Management organizes Business competition that see the participants from the various B Schools of the country. They devise a business plan and work closely with the research and innovation centreof the university.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure and facility My annual course fee was INR 84,000 which included tuition fee, professional development fee, examination fee and sports and amenities fee. Being the private university, I found the fees nominal as compared to the other private universities. The fees included all the major facilities provided by the university.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Scholarships There are three scholarships that are provided by the university- OPJEMS Scholarship, Entry level scholarship, Merit cum Means scholarship. There are provided to the meritorious students of all the programs and batches. I have received 2 scholarships- entry level because I had scored 95% marks in 12th class and merit cum means scholarship for the highest marks scored in the first semester.

Campus Life :

Campus life and Extracurricular activities The campus life is amazing. The campus is built in a lush green ecofriendly environment. There are various digital and research labs where the collaborative learning takes place through experiments and research projects. There are book shops, cafes, coffee shop, ATM facilities that meets the day-to day requirements of the students. I personally like to spend the time after my lectures playing the table tennis in the court where all my friends catch up for some free time. There are various clubs that the student can join during their academic life. Some of them are literary club, cine club, cultural club, technical club and innovation club. I had joined the literary club in my first year and continues to serve as a member of it. It has enhanced my writing skills that helped me in becoming a more creative person.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel There are separate boys and girls hostel at the campus. The overall infrastructure of the hostel is good with the decent facilities provided by the university. The hostel rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, fully furnished and equipped with cable connection and the Internet. There are various events organized such as cultural nights, festival dinners that see the students from diverse backgrounds coming in and interacting with each other. My personal favorite is the Diwali dinner when the entire hostel is lit up with the lights and students come dressed in ethnic and dance with each other. The hostel is my second home where I have spent the most beautiful moments of my life.

Admission :

Admission The 45% marks in class 12th was the minimum criteria for taking admission in B Com (HONS). I applied online at OPJU School of Management. My name appeared in the first merit list and I went for the counseling to the campus. All my documents got verified after which I received a provisional admission letter. My admission finally got confirmed after the fee submission.

Faculty :

Faculty All our faculty members were highly qualified. They all had relevant industry experience that enabled the students to gain exposure of diverse industries. There were 9 faculty members in the school of management. All of them were assistant professors who had completed their Ph.D. long time back. They all had 5-6 years of teaching experience. All of them were extremely supportive and cleared all our doubts during our course time. 1:18 is the student faculty ratio with 35 years being the average age of the faculty members.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The responsibility ,honour and duty of this profession influenced me to choose this Course. Curriculum shows us the real side of the world as we survive this field and met patients and their families. Areas of improvement is just the availability of modern and advance tools devices and teaching methods should be more modern as per today's requirment. Frequency of exams are very high and very difficult requirs very high time for preparation.
