Best and the most serene college

Remarks :

The management could be more effective and get the students to maintain a dress code since at times the students are extremely inappropriately dressed. No strict rule about attendance makes students slack with their work and spend days bunking college.

Entrance Preview :

I took an entrance test at Presidency University, Christian University, symbiosis and others and later decided to study Pol science honours at Jadavpur because it's one of the best in India.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is very good and adaptable. My electives are film studies and English and Film studies gives me an insight on production, film making and lots of other technicalities related to the art of films.

Internships Opportunities :

I haven't worked as an intern yet but I'm aiming for drama and social service internships. Which don't give much stipend but have you an enriching experience which you won't get at an internship that pays you ten thousand a month.

Placement Experience :

The placement and job opportunities are there for since graduates and not for the B.A honours students but we are told about jobs we can apply for and examinations we can further prepare from and where.

College Events :

We keep on having fests and inter college competitions and many of that since it is a very big University. This year we are having one of the biggest MUN's India has witnessed. The Jadavpur MUN in collaboration with ROME MUN is going to be spectacular.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees structure is very feasible. We need to pay only 1200 a year since it's a college run by the government. The food is also pretty cheap. I don't think I need to say anything more about the fee structure.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college gives scholarship programs to its good students and the department of science get opportunities from universities abroad, very good scholarships and student loans.

Campus Life :

The gender ratio is 4:5 :: boys:girls. People freely smoke and drink in the college campus, there is a lot of politics in college but you cannot be forced into it. People from all walks of life take admission in the college.

Hostel Facilities :

We have cheap hostel facilities with only a thousand rupees per month but it's hard to get since they get filled up very fast once the new session of the college starts. The food is excellent with 3 canteens in the college.

Alumni/Alumna :

The senior students usually practise ragging in hostels which has been often complained about but the seniors in college are nice and helpful. There will be a block between them and you in the initial months and then it's alright.

Exam Structure :

The exams are not so frequent and give us time to prepare for our subjects. The environment doesn't really help you to study as its very chilled out. We don't have a book system and need to burst our heads in the library all day before exams.

Faculty :

It's good. The faculty is very well read and educated and they make you fall in live with the subject they are teaching. There is no compulsory rule about attendance yet students always maintain a good attendance since the proffessors are extremely good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always liked psychology since the day i took the subject in class 11-12. I was very determined to persue psychology in my graduation as well as masters. The curriculum convinced me more to study this subject and know more about it. The curriculum involves all the aspects including it's applications in the real world. I personally don't think they should make much changes to the curriculum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This curriculum is enriched with literature works by British and American writers which is really enjoyable to read and the Teachers make it more exciting. Teachers are really good at explaining every single point in the syllabus. In the history of literature part they give us notes about each and every write a and there works so that we are familiar with most of the part of our syllabus. They does not teach only for the exams but they make sure that we learn everything with depth. We have a semester exams in every 6 month but sometimes it becomes 7 or 5. But the teachers are really supportive so that we don't panic in our exams.

Placement Experience:

Training and placement cell complements the efforts of the members of faculty by organizing value-added programs and providing career counseling and placement opportunities to students. It acts as the major interface with the corporate sector and helps develop the industry-academia interrelationship. The cell organizes certain orientation programs, grooming sessions, mock interview sessions for students of each stream. Moreover, the cell organizes various summer internship programs for students to provide them with hands-on experience, thus introducing them to the professional environment. The cell continuously coordinates with various industries and organizations for the placement of students. It actively obtains feedback from organizations and conveys it to respective departments which, in turn, trains students accordingly, thereby increasing their employability. At Heritage, an all-out effort is made to groom the students for enhanced employability.

Admission:

I got affirmation in this university based on 10+2 marks. The base imprints expected to get a confirmation in this school is 50% in 10+2. To get affirmation, first, the up-and-comer needs to fill the structure. As I have done B.A. from this college, my affirmation depends on the legitimacy list.

Placement Experience:

The college gives great positions to the students. Numerous seniors from my seashore were put with acceptable compensation bundles. Numerous students likewise landed government positions. Likewise, a portion of the students got entry-level positions in all around rumoured firms. I also got an internship at this university. After that, I was placed in the same firm.

Remarks:

The postivie thing of our college is its Ambeince, Quality teachings, and being on of the oldest colleges in west bengal its a heritage to us and as a student i am proud to be a student of this college. In academic ways it clears all the basic and essential qualities needed in terms of studies which made it to be one of the top colleges in west bengal. The only negative thing according to me is that our canteen is open only for our professors not for us which is very unfair.

Remarks:

The College excels in providing a peaceful learning atmosphere where there is no brouhaha of the outside world and the teachers are superb. But , unfortunately, being a boys-only college, the girls can not have the excellent opportunities provided here. As an autonomous college, they should exercise their freedom more to the students' needs. The disciplinarian rigidity is extreme help, but it fires back sometimes. Otherwise, the college is a complete package for those who wants to really build their career and at the same time live a enjoyable hostel life. It is an experience indelible. Students are lucky and proud.

Entrance Preview:

There is no entrance exam conducted by the college. They publish a merit list and tech admission are done through this merit list.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum strictly follows the university guidelines. The curriculum is very tough and extreme time and energy has to be invested to be able to score moderately good. Pass subjects are another headache because you have to clear them too. So choose a moderately easy subject which you think you can handle.
