Entrance Preview :

My IIT JEE AlR was 9166 and AIEEE AIR was 6288 in year 2010. But I opted IIT Kharagpur because it was near to my native place, Jamshedpur and obviously anyone would prefer IIT rather then any other college. My score was 191 in IITJEE entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview :

My course contents were great. It contained a lot of learning topics from variable stream of common learning that we see around in our life. It covered a great deal of courses such that one could opt for software profile job to consultant job as well as banking sector jobs.

Internships Opportunities :

I did my internship at TATA Steel, Jamshedpur. It was non funded but I wanted to work at TATA Steel so I didn't searched for any other internship programs. Generally stipend is offered at TATA steel which is around Rs.10,000/pm unfortunately it doesn't offer paid internships and jobs to our department that year.

Placement Experience :

Placement opportunities is great at IIT Kharagpur. Although I did't received a good placement but my batch mates managed good placement offers. Many of them had been offered abroad jobs.

College Events :

ILLU- Short for Illumination is a great event at IIT Kharagpur during Diwali festival. It seems like a festival itself as more than 5000 students participate in it and a lot of man hours and money is invested in this event. There is a competition among different residence halls.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I was offered Merit Cum Means scholarship at IIT Kharagpur. It was fifty percent of my tuition fees.

Alumni/Alumna :

I was never in connection with any of my seniors which was a reason for my failure to get proper guidance through placement season. The senior students are very supportive at IIT Kharagpur.

Faculty :

Faculties are great at my college. They always encouraged us to study and work hard. Although there were differences between me and the faculty's opinions but they always proved to be correct at the end.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

From seventh semester the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visited are like TCS, Cognizant, infosys, mindtree and many others. The avg pkg is 6 lpa and highest is 12 lpa. 90 percent students gets placed.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
